That’s one of my favourite lifting quotes of all time. Brilliant!
Good log, keep at it.

Awesome log, signed up.

Csulli, wanna race to overhead pressing body weight six times? It’ll be fun, and you just might win. Of course I am already pressing more than body weight.

Dude, come to my grotto and we’ll get your overhead press to mine within a month or so of training with me and my harem, Marybelle-Bobbyjoe.

!!?

Is this directed to me, vinny? Or are you attempting to save Csulli from my overhead-awesomeness?

Oh my yes

I’ll take that as: Are humans allowed in this overhead press challenge?

Lots of mobility work first.

Squat:
45 5x
135 5x
185 5x
225 5x
275 3x
315 3x
335 1x
350 5x
375 1x
390 1x I’m scared of doing 4 plates on squat. Gotta be said. But this was way too easy to not keep going up.
405 1x Surprised myself at how very easy and fast this was.
425 1x 40lb PR without knee wraps. This was quite a slow rep though; it wasn’t easy. However it was actually still a bit quicker and easier than my first 425 squat which was with knee wraps and meet prep and psyche and all the things that go on when you’re competing. It was really great to be able to go to the gym on an average feeling day and hit what used to be a true 100% max attempt as sort of a “no big deal” heavy single. This is pretty on par with where I was thinking my squat strength was. 450 with wraps is most likely doable now, but it’ll be next year before I do a full meet again, so hopefully I’ll have even more by that time.

Did some single leg pumping action on the leg press.

Bench:
45 10x
135 10x
185 5x
225 5x
275 3x
295 4x
245 12x

I now officially hate you.(kidding) A 40 pound PR on the squat? A 10-20 pound PR is really fucking hard for me to get. :frowning:

No vid?

Beast. Are you just doing 5/3/1 for this? Do you think your Coan/Philippi DL program is helping your squat #'s as well as your DL?

Sorry had to wait for my training partner to send the vid. We used his phone cuz mine was playing the music.

Not as deep as I will go in a meet obviously, but still happy about it.

Very possible since I’m so lower back dominant. I think most of it though is just 5/3/1. It’s been steady, consistent progress.

I do however add a heavy bench session on Monday after squats as you can see. That’s not really part of 5/3/1 I guess, but I think it’s going okay.

Bench:
45 40x
95 10x
135 10x
185 5x
225 5x
255 3x
280 8x All time PR. Almost got 9. It’s been a long road, but my bench is finally back. My dad showed up to the gym randomly today around when I was doing my 255 set. He stayed and spotted me for this set, and I’m crediting him with this PR. It’s been ages since I’ve worked out with my dad, and I had forgotten how hard I would push myself to try and impress him.

Slingshot Bench:
315 1x
335 1x
365 1x
385 1x Fast, easy rep, but I don’t want to go heavier than this yet. I’m still not that used to using a slingshot.

Bench: (continued)
255 10x
255 10x
255 10x
255 10x
255 10x Never done anything close to this amount of weight for a 5x10 before.
185 10x All paused.
185 20x Last rep paused.
185 18x Almost had to do the roll of shame on this set lol.
185 12x
185 12x

134 total reps of bench press not counting warmup sets.

A Wild Grip Training Appears!
Captain’s of Crush #2:
several sets of 2 reps with each hand. Full closes with the ends touching.

DB End Holds:
30lb DB passing from hand to hand 10 times, holding for a second in each hand as one rep
did 3 sets of this

3 Dime Pinch:
Same as with the DB holds I passed the three 10’s from hand to hand 10 times, holding for a second on each rep
did 3 sets of this

Double Overhand Rack Pulls:
495 1x
495 1x
405 1x held for 2 seconds
405 1x held for 2 seconds
315 1x held for 30 seconds Amazing how much easier this was than 4 plates.
315 1x held for 30 seconds

Barbell Finger Curls: Let the bar roll down in your fingers and then grip it back up
135 10x
135 10x Try these; they’re extremely difficult. I think even Magnus Samuelsson only used like 250lbs for them.

Fat Grip Hang:
15 seconds

Killed it man. Lovin the PR’s and the random grip work session. Excellent work recently.

I think that makes 2 consecutive workouts with PR’s?
