Stop pretending a 600lb deadlift is so hard for you lol. You’ve got it before the end of 2015. Your speed off the floor is great, just work the lockout. Do like 14"-18" pulls and train your glutes and thoracic extension more. Everytime you deadlift sub-500, the speed off the floor is that of a 600lb puller, it’s just your lockout sucks poopie pies. You need to attack that damn deadlift with some serious aggression sometime soon and knock out 600. It’s imminent!

Me and my training partner were talking about this the other day. For me the deadlift doesn’t even start till it’s past my knees lol.

Did some of those rows where you grab a bar and put your feet up on a bench or whatever and row your chest into the bar. Couple sets bodyweight and couple sets with a 45 on my chest for 10’s.

Actually I’m using more pecs! But mostly it’s using the lats that has helped.

  • What is your best squat anyway? Scanning the last couple pages, it seems you only train at sub 400s…
  • Your head comes off the bench. Are there any feds that allow that?
  • You lift shirtless?

My best single was in the meet I did in July which was 425. Since then I’ve been making relatively steady progress. If I threw on the knee wraps I’d most likely be around 450 at the moment, but we won’t know till I do my next full meet.

Honestly I thought head off the bench was allowed in virtually all the federations except the IPF. It isn’t against the rules in the SPF which is what a lot of the meets around here are. And USPF is okay with head coming off as well. That’s good to be mindful of though. I don’t really feel like I need to do that with my head; it’s just some kind of habit.

I only bench shirtless lol. None of my other training is shirtless except maybe outdoor cardio. I bench shirtless because I can get such a great grip on that bench pad with skin as opposed to cotton or the slick material a lot of athletic wear is made of.

Used 90lb KB swings, squat vertical jumps, dips, and BW rows with my feet up on a bench. This feels like the best exercise setup I’ve found so far for this workout.

There might have been a strategic way in which I could have locked out that last rep. My left arm had it, but I held it back to try and wait on my right arm to catch up, but it never did. Maybe it woulda worked better to just go ahead and lock the left and do some nasty crooked, twisting lockout with the right arm lol.
