What kind of hit me like a ton of bricks for the first time ever though is I had this “oh shit” moment, and I realized how dependent I felt on a drug. Even if it is a prescription, I felt suddenly sickened that I should be a prisoner to anything. I don’t want to have anything in my life where if it were suddenly taken away I’d feel doomed. That reeks of weakness.
So that’s that. I’ll let you guys know if I figure out how to cure asthma.
Haha amazing! I feel the same way about my glasses lol, I hate being so dependent on them.

Have you considered laser eye surgery? It’s getting more and more affordable. If you get it done tell me how it goes and Ill do it haha

Something worth looking into would be a) Buteyko’s work with breathing volume and asthma and other diseases (but I’m not totally sold on it), and b) products like the PowerLung which literally force your lungs to get stronger.

Haha! I’m not sure I trust it fully, but it’s not something I’ve really thought about in detail. I’ll be sure to let you know if I go for it though!
Just did some sets with 315 on squat to work on form. Was pretty fruitful actually. I feel like I have been overdoing the knees out thing on the descent. I felt stronger and better in my knees and hip flexors with a more forward facing knee.
Did some really high rep close stance leg press for dat quad pump. Also some bike for more quad pump action.
Farmer’s Walks:
200 per hand for 4 walks with a turn halfway
On the third run I finally got the turn decently thanks to some advice from Chia. I was raging pretty hard after the first two. I literally got turned completely sideways and was crab walking with 400lbs.

One arm DB press used to be my absolute favorite exercise! Did you clean it each time or clean, press, press, drop?

How big are the dumbells at your gym? :)
I clean every rep. The dumbbells only go up to like 115 or so at the gym. I use a fat grip on the handle any time I do this exercise to simulate the strongman implement.

My gym has 7 circus dumbbells. 2 of them are 220-270lb slater DB’s with 3" handles. The others are makeshift. I should fucking mail you one dude.

I second the idea of training to breath more efficiently, which is what I believe Buteyko’s work is about. I could see it helping reduce the panic associated with an asthma attack and preventing hyperventilation. Diaphragm is a muscle too
No it’s not really a thing anymore. Old school strongmen used to do shit like this ^ Nowadays only nerds do one arm barbell presses or the bent press. One arm dumbbell pressing is where it’s at.
Squat:
45 5x
135 5x
185 5x
225 3x
275 3x
315 2x
add wraps
375 2x
375 2x super fast and easy. Didn’t do more reps though because the wrap was so painful lol. I wrapped myself, and everyone made fun of me last time when I did that cuz it was super loose and stupid. So this time I wrapped myself insanely tight and bruised up my legs.
remove wraps
315 3x
315 3x
315 3x Some explosive speed sets for backdown.

This made me chuckle out loud
