Squat:
45 5x
135 5x
135 5x
185 5x
225 5x
275 3x
315 3x
add wraps
365 3x wrapped myself; didn’t feel anything with 'em so I racked it
365 5x
365 5x Had lilpower wrap me on the other two sets. Felt nice and easy. Just needed to get in a little time with the wraps.
remove wraps
315 5x
315 5x Couple easy backdowns.
Face down, ass up, that’s the way I like to squat!
Step ups: lol?
5 sets of 10 each leg
I don’t know what else to do on leg day. I need something that will hammer my quads. I don’t feel it on leg press or lunges or anything. The gym doesn’t have a leg extension. I dunno. I guess I could fucking front squat, but those suck. Close stance, high bar squats feel wrong on my knees. Who knows. I feel guilty not doing anything besides squats though regardless of how many sets I do.

Lol why do front squats suck? Other than slowly dying in the inside from the lack of air, and having to fight your chest from collapsing… and of course a lot less weight.
Come on, try some front squats, and see if your just as humiliated as I was the other day. Done a few sets here and there over the years as a warm up, but I tried 225x5 ( dosen’t sound heavy, for a 405 back squatter) and I was taught a lesson, need much quad and core work. They do suck, and like anything else, we probably need to spend more time doing what we hate. Chobbs and I are sort of seeing who can get to 255 for 5 clean reps first. I can pretty much military that, but it is what it is, and it’s obviously somthing I need to work on. If your in that ball park, join in.
The weight can’t be any more embarrasing for you than it is for me. I’d say I’m aiming for 315, but that would be a pipe dream, LOL, you can check out the vid on my log, probably help you feel better about your own front squats. Not somthing I’m bragging about, just thought it might make you feel better about wher ever your at with them. Guys always say they’re quad dominate, Ya, not so much. Latter
Snow day!!! The town of Knoxville was brought to utter paralysis by snow. Had to leave work early and wind symphony rehearsal was cancelled, so why not make the perilous drive to the gym to lift? And what do you do on a bonus lifting day? Always arms.

You could do the seated (unmanly) leg press for ultra high reps without fully locking out?? THat makes my quads very throbby…
Alright so here’s the deal. Muscularly none of these sets were even close to failure, but today was one of those days where you have to choose between either stopping the set or shitting yourself lol. I fucking hate it when that happens. So basically what I ended up doing was like a cluster set of 465 where I went to the bathroom between each cluster. Seriously that is exactly what I did; I had to go to the damn toilet 5 times. I know I’m not the only one who’s been there. Ed Coan had a story about it once lol. Still, really infuriating.
Chest Supported Rows:
3 plates 10x
3 plates 10x
4 plates 8x
1 plate and 5 25’s strip set for 8, 5, 5, 3, 3, 3 shit that got difficult lol
Pullups:
15x
10x
Straight Arm Pulldowns:
3 sets of 10
Chest Supported DB Rows:
50’s 10x
50’s 10x
50’s 10x
50’s 10x
70’s 10x Oh man these are good; I need to remember to keep doing these.
Hyperextensions:
w/ 45lb bar on my back for 4 sets of 10
BW for a set of 25

Geez, did you have a big ass burrito with a laxative before your workout or something?!
No not at all; just a ton of intra-abdominal pressure.

Yea, I threw up a little in my mouth while doing deadlifts this week. Thank goodness I was able to keep my mouth shut and not embarrass myself!

Fuckin lactase/lactose…
I cant find the videos of Mark Bell explaining a portion of deadlift form that I wanted to show you. It was about how using an arched back for squats and deadlifts was wrong, and that neutral spine is much better for injury prevention and for moving more weight.
LOL, I tried one day to find a video from supertraining, where he talks about snapping the bar off the ground for an explosive break away, but then by deadlifting that way you struggle the last 6inches or so. Anyway I wanted to bring that vid here because the example he used looked just like Csulli deadlifts. It’s about 5 pages back on this very log, I was pissed off, gave up, and told csulli to find it himself. Haha, it’s impossibe, because he uses the same heading for every vid, and you have to watch every vid, haha I feel your frustration, goodluck
I’m easing back in to cardio. I never should have stopped in the first place. Mainly though I just found out that my insurance won’t cover my asthma meds anymore, which are over 300 bucks a month if I have to pay cash, which I could do, but really don’t want to. I mean you can buy a lot of chicken for that amount of money. So I need to make my lungs stronger.
What kind of hit me like a ton of bricks for the first time ever though is I had this “oh shit” moment, and I realized how dependent I felt on a drug. Even if it is a prescription, I felt suddenly sickened that I should be a prisoner to anything. I don’t want to have anything in my life where if it were suddenly taken away I’d feel doomed. That reeks of weakness.
So that’s that. I’ll let you guys know if I figure out how to cure asthma.

Haha amazing! I feel the same way about my glasses lol, I hate being so dependent on them.
