Didn’t feel like using much weight anymore, so for those DB presses and bench I just did some slow negatives with as much range of motion as possible, nice and controlled.

Farmer’s Holds: Chia made some fucking awesome farmer’s handles. We didn’t do any walks today, but we just weighed them and loaded up and tested things out. Grip felt great.
Did a few picks and holds with 245 per hand, which, as I understand, is about what they use for most amateur contests. Hands felt solid as fuck. The limiting factor on these will probably be my abs and upper back during the walks.

Chinups:
5 sets of 10

Machine Rows:
5 sets of 10

Very abbreviated workout today. Played around with the handles and shot the shit for a while and just needed to head out. Dog sitting for someone, so had to make sure Kirby hadn’t brutally killed their puppy while I was gone.

Tomorrow is bench day. And by bench day, this time, I mean dip day. Shit is going down, mark my words.

I mean check out these handles! Solid as hell. And he said it was only like 50 bucks in materials.

I’m gonna make that 330lb stone early next week provided the weather should be warm enough overnight. Also we’ve got an empty keg that I can fill with sand to load up to 150-200 for carries. Chia’s got a sandbag already with some load, and we can fill that out to 150-200 also for carries.

Gonna be a legit strongman gym. The only thing we need now is to save up for a yoke, and we will seriously be all set.

I’ve never felt this with dips before, but doing max type weights on them I don’t even feel it in my triceps hardly at all; I feel it all in the center of my chest, like at my sternum. What it feels like really is someone ripping my ribcage apart.

I had a pretty shitty workout from here on; those heavy derps kinda fucked me up.

Dismal failure:

I always loop the belt chain through once before I hook the weights. With this many plates however that put the weight like way too high, and I think that may have thrown me off somewhat.

+205 Dip:

I did not loop the chain this time, and the weights hung better. It’s clear though that I’m still a good ways from 225. It will be some time before I attempt a max again.

My hat is off to mahwah. That shit is hard.

Well I don’t know who all’s in the race, but Jed and I are probably pretty close on dip strength. Mahwah can already do 5 plates lol. And spar4tee for now is concealing his power level, although I strongly suspect he is ahead of us. It’s gonna be tougher than I thought to get to 225.
