No worries about the wedgie. Squat depth looks SO MUCH BETTER! Good job. And your bench is awesome. Sometimes we have to go back to square one to really be able to move forward. Kuddos to you for recognizing that.

Thanks snap - I worked myself up to 115lbs for 3 reps today. I’ll film it later this week to make sure but it felt right. However I am no where no my delusional 150lbs. How people can do twice their body weight is beyond me right now. step by riser step I suppose.
Today’s workout (man this spring weather is truly giving me energy! I love me some sunshine)
squats - concentrating on form like I was folding origami
65lbs 1x12
75lbs 1x12
85lbs 1x8
95lb 1x5
115lbs 1x3 - will tape to make sure I’m hitting depth with those. No more fantasy island for me.
lunges
started out with 105lbs - which I did with ease last time but the reality of squating 4 days in a row hit me like a tone of bricks.
65lbs 3x12 - was coming up with every swear word I know.
cable wide grip pull down
60lbs 1x12
80lbs 1x5
90lbs 1x3
80lbs 1x5
60lbs 1x10
hamstring hypers
3x10 - tried these for the first time. Man my hammies are weak.
Military DB press
25lbs 3x8
superset with hammer curls
2x5
1x8 - regular curls on last set
15 mins. of 5mph treamdill. was going for 20 but the electricity in the gym died out. I read that as a cue to take my arse out of there and enjoy more sunshine…
food:
Nothing fancy
pp/oates/blueberries
zone bar (I know these aren’t clean but the banana nuts ones are my fav.)/fish oil
pp/coconut oil
whole grain bread/tuna/salsa
pp/peanut butter
I’ve dropped my pre-workout as I have good energy levels these days and I was having issues digesting it.
cheers

I hear you on the spring weather! I feel like my battery’s been recharged!
Nice job on the squats, I’m joining you in dropping the weight & focusing on form, form, form!

^ high rep lunges and the like aren’t easy…good work!

Great job! I hope the video was pleasing.
Spring!!! I know you will understand the excitement…
Spring is definitly in the air Kimba! - took 3 days off from gym 2 of which were date nights with the husband. Wednesday went to a fabulous restaurant La Montee on Crescent for those lurking living in Montreal. The food was awesome and creative and with every plate they had a unique wine to pair with. I hadn’t eaten this well in a long time. We left the place bloated and happy like a couple of city racoons. Thursday we went to see the new Alice in Wonderland which was fun but I keep wondering how far Burton would have taken the trip down the rabbit hole without the Disney leash. Aw well. So 3 nights in bed past midnight gives for a weak sauce gym day, but hell, I’m still in the game and happy about it.
deadlift
135lbs 1x5
185lbs 1x1
205lbs - no go. did last few times.damn.
185lbs 1x1
205lbs - again no go.
185lbs 1x1 -I did 3 reps last time. No way I could hold it for 3 today.
195lbs 1x1
145lbs 1x5
135lbs 1x6
115lbs 1x10
front squat bar - for the first time in ages
1x4 - didn’t like the bendy wrist position
2x8 - switched to crossed arms and felt comfy.
65lbs 2x8
75lbs 1x6
85lbs 1x3
95lbs 1x2 - was surprised I could pull this off
65lbs 1x6
50 crunches on swiss ball feet on wall
dips 2x5 - wasn’t feeling it
good morning 65lbs 3x12 - felt tougher than they should.
20 mins of 3-5mph treadmill.
All in all I’m just glad I’m back in my routine. I know this workout will tire me enough to get my ass in bed early tonight and tommorow should be better - providing my husband doesn’t snore.
cheers

I wouldn’t call any day that included a 195 pull and a 95 front squat a weak sauce day.
^x2
Here’s hoping you get a good night’s sleep tonight! And nice job on the front squats!

Thanks Kimba: I called it weak sauce beacause I couldn’t reach my previous PR’s. I’m usually stubborn enough to pull it off. Stubborn didn’t work this time.

chalk
nothing sexier than well earned callouses and a legit grip ![]()
wrap a towel around the bar. fatter grip will demand more grip strength, but will go easy on your pwetty widdle hands till their awwwwwllll bettuh.
oh and, hai.
Nice going on the rack pulls. You are using chalk, right?
Welcome back amongst us Madame CBear. I have terrible grip issues, I’m afraid the towel would limit my pulling even more hence the thinner gloves with grip. Maybe I can try with a “not to thick” towel. Hence less strain on the grip and some protection to the open sores.
I suppose what you’re all saying is I’m damned.
if u have an old yoga mat u could cut that up. maybe some of those oven mitt thingys.
