Still not working very well, so I’ll send this out and see what kind of reply I get, and try to remember to WRITE IT DOWN this time. Just to be sure, I should make this post a bit longer, so I know that it’s not really working. Don’t get me wrong, my middle name could be ‘user-error’, but i think it mighe be more than that…let’s see what happens shall we…
Keep tryn.
You little minx.
EDIT: Pushpress @ 185? Wrong, no way I hit that, just did 5x3@155. Using little weights screwed up my count some how, tried more, but not even close. Sorry.
To much else to catch up, just plodding along.
5x5@225 squats felt heavy this week.
5x3@ 205 bench not better or worse.
Dips+45plate…4x12 feeling very strong.
RDL’s 8’s(reps)@185…6’s @225, stronger than my squats?
DB press 6-8@60/70’s,1arm row w/8@80’s…
Calf raise 12x225, cable crunch 8@85…Deads a little loose last time, going again thursday to hit 2’s@315 (weak off the floor)…I was hitting 405 pulls from about 4" aerobic step, 2’s and 3’s with a little bounce off. I think that catches things up more or less. Gosh I’d like a shake right about now…
Lookn strong. This week on bench day,cut back your weight. If you did 5 x 3 x 205, take it to something like; 5 x 5 x 185 or so. I like 5 x 5 , but you could do any rep scheme.
The other option of course it to get a good spot and run up for a heavy single, if you havent maxd out lately.

One of the main things anyone will have to overcome is just getting acclimated to the feel of the weight. I was stuck on my bench @ 200 for a long time. Every time I pulled the weight out it hurt. I mean, the pressure was more than I was use to. I thought maybe Im not strong enough to handle this. I was watching JimmyT bench one day (at the time he was benching in the mid 3s) and his face turned red he had to push and work - at 225. Then I realized 225 is 225 no mater who you are. It feels heavy. Once I got past the fear I was fine.

I was working out a 24 Hour Fitness in San Diego on a business trip last year, and was amused by a short skinny guy, jeans, t-shirt, denim jacket, topsiders, yakking on the phone in Russian next to a bench. He got off the phone and got ready to bench with 2 plates on each side. I was thinking maybe I should get ready to spot him for when he got completely crushed by the bar.
My jaw pretty much hit the floor when he proceeded to crank out what seemed like about eight fast reps without too much problem.
Lost another post…5 days off sick, not eating, training, nothing. Just great.
Did some rackpulls with dips (a lot of both), ab work ect, and had very little energy. Gee that’s just swell. Gotta get to eating more soon or I’ll just blow away…
Life gets in the way sometimes…
Have a shake! You’ll feel better.
Being sick blows but you’ll be back to normal in no time Z.
I was wondering bout ya.
Have a shake, have a shake…nobody likes a smart-ass Skid. (except for me of course).
Trying to add some calories/carbs to my life, I’ve added a new favorite mix:
1cup plain yogurt
1c. plain oats
1c. Frozen blueberries
2-3 Tbs. peanut butter…and mix well. It ends up looking, feeling and tasteing like a W. Wonka mash, but it’s dam good (and cheap). And if there’s any left over, it’s also a lovely facial mask FYI.
Hey z-man! hope you get feeling better. Just for you (since you have no You-Tubeness) I attempted to post a video on my log.
Now just add some protein powder to you mix (when you get the funds) and that shake sounds like the perfect mass gainer.
I think your on to something with the shake being a mask after.

Remember, you can get inexpensive but good protein powders at Costco or the bulk bin at Whole Foods.
I get mine from Sams. What the heck is it EAS?I think, anyway its good.

I confess to buying at SAMS as well (depends which store I’m in when I need the next bag).
Keep up the good work.
Ain’t got no fancy “sams card”, what’s the price/lbs.?? I use Dymatize Nutrition, 5lbs. @ $40 (70)25g. servings. Pretty good. Last post never showed up, this is a test…I have an amuzing story about my scale/current weight reality…will this work?
Sure, fine. So the scale I’ve been using may, MAY, be 10-12 off, according to another gym guy. I haven’t checked myself yet. So a year ago when I was a fairly solid 185? I was at 195/197??? Almost 2-bills!
And when I went to a very lean ‘170ish’ I was actually 185 or so…It’s madness I tell you, madness. Turns out, it can’t be that much off.
Got on a couple scales in my hospital (with gear on) and I’m about 185 so, I’m gonna go with 175lbs. as of today. But it was a little shocking of an idea, 195? I’m gonna build back to a hard 185 and take my lifts along for the ride.
That may be the only goal I’ve really made as of late. Bring the legs up too.
There ya have it. Stay strong everyone.
Yeah, the sams stuff about $30. Low sugar. As for the weight, if the scale shows 185 w/clothes on, clothes usually weigh about 4lb. So that would put you at 181. A true class weight.
Good price, for 5lbs. was it? As for “the gear”? I wasn’t talking about a velure track suit! I meant my GI-Joe utility belt ect…shoes, radio, keys, cuffs…misc. peices of tactical bling!!! Wouldn’t mind hitting the meat dept. at Sams’/Costco some day for sure. Train hard.
Unrelated, but I when I was at my parents place in Montana I was surprised to find a big tub of protein powder in the kitchen pantry. Apparently, my dad’s doctor recommended he drink some every day to avoid muscle loss. Never heard of that before, but it made me want to meet the doctor!
My dad turns 80 next month.
