Intermediate olympic programming in cut

I’m solidly early intermediate and I need to cut weight while developing my power-clean. Practical Programming has an intermediate Olympic program but it’s written for being in a big surplus. The end of the peaking process looks like it could be promising when run weekly as it allows for a reduction in volume and good intensity which should be necessary on a cut. Will running this every week work to maintain strength while cutting?

------MON---- ----TUE---- ----THUR---- ----FRI----
Snatch 8x1 # Squat 80%x2x10 # Snatch Max # Squat 5RM
C&J 8x1 # Press 70%x3x10 # C&J Max # Press 5RM
# Chins 3 x 5-8 # Front Squat 3x3 # Deadlift 5x1

Current stats are 435/325/535 @ 209lbs @ 6’3" and 30 y/o, training for 7 months with a few breaks in the middle. Been running madcow 5x5, current power clean is 195 but I’m effectively just catching in a standing position so need to work on that with the coach.

How much weight do you need to cut?
IMO trying to build while cutting is a recipe for injury.
You need to give a little more detail on what you are trying to do

Only 10lbs, I’m not trying to build strength or muscle during this time which I know is a folly, but I have read a bunch of literature that suggests I can develop explosive power while doing this. I’m trying to drop this over 3 months.

Is this for a comp or to make a weight division on a team?
10lbs in 3 months is pretty easy. Eat just to maintain performance. Clean foods. Keep protien up and mod fats/carbs. Cardio is your friend here.

I compete in a different sport that people tend to be very interested in — if it’s at all ok I’d like to not say because it will definitely derail any conversation here.

The weight reduction isn’t a requirement for my sport but it’s very useful to avoid carrying unnecessary weight.

Got it. Hard to give specific advice with little detail. 10lbs is nothing though for that timeframe. Just keep a clean diet and hit some cardio.
