Why do you care who thinks what? Let’s say people do think at the time of this picture he was on roids. Why do you make such a stink about it? You come across as if the world is eventually going to come around and think like you when it’s not.
Suck a stink? I made one thread about it…in months.

Why does it bother you that other people seem to care also?

What I notice is…none of you spend much time asking why anyone else is making threads.

Yet when it comes to me, every thing posted needs to be questioned.

Why post to tell me you hate my posts?
I don’t hate you or your posts. I admit that I am astonished that a man 30-something years old implies that he is frustrated that some uninvolved or naive or uninformed people have some thoughts about some people’s physiques or their roid use or lack thereof.

Could he have been on roids at the time of or before he took that picture? I think he might have been. I have no clue about what stage of development he started using and he said he was offered roids in prison but declined the offer because he had an ample stash of tuna and ramen noodles. He looks quite big there, and it could also be one of those “magic photos” that we all have in which he looks outstandingly big. And yes, a drunk mumbling schlub shuffling down the street might have thought that Kali was on roids at that stage of development. You seem to have a problem with this.

Conversely, some uneducated people will and do think Kali is natural. An example of this fiance’s father saw him in three commercials, one of which I was with him when we saw it together. He asked me, “Brickhead, do you think that guy uses stuff? He looks like a big guy to begin with.” He once asked me again, “I saw that guy again, the big guy in the commercials. Do you think he takes stuff?”

Mike O’hearn is on roids. Kali is on roids. Who are all these people discrediting their hard work? O’hearn surprises me in that after all his success he still to this day needs any morsel of recognition and attention he can get by stating that in addition to his unstated roid use, everyone should recognize his hard work, even though it is implied considering his physique and monstrous lifts and acting and modeling gigs.

Anyway, in addition to many people thinking certain people take steroids when they don’t and that much progress can be made through natty training, there are also people who think this whole thing, all extreme physical fitness endeavors–Crossfit, marathons, bodybuilding, powerlifting, mud races, Olympic lifting–are complete wastes of time if one is not making money from them, that such a degree of involvement is silly. Many also think that people in bodybuilding or powerlifting have “issues”, that they’re gay, that they’re gay and just don’t know it yet, that they are grotesque looking, and so on.

What should we do with all these people?

LOL. Why would it “astonish” you that I discuss issues that affect me and others when it comes to this lifestyle?

If you don’t care, so be it.

Quit posting to tell me you don’t care.
Professor X wrote:

Why do some of these guys appear bigger than I have heard a natural can get?
Steroids are super easy to get, not only in youth authority but also in all prisons. I know people who ran steroids inside and when they stop receiving money they developed issues because they had no access to PCT or anything to get their natural test online.

Also genetics and food, which is easy to get protein powder, candy, etc from the tuck shop.

It’s not that I don’t care. I think I consider it rather interesting, seriously.

How does the opinion of some sedentary person completely disinterested in lifting affect you?

Again, this is total curiosity. If my curiosity is no good, I apologize.
BrickHead wrote:

More importantly, what do YOU plan on doing with all these people?

Well we had a good thread going there for awhile, but now I guess were going to just break up into packs and hunt down lazy people.

I’m in

did you take the picture when he walked out of jail yourself? or were you the one checking if he had taken any roids while he was supposebly “locked” up.

guy has lied on a couple of things. wouldn’t be surprised if he lied about his whole tough guy persona just to get some cred on youtube and make some easy money.

bad news: There’s a disturbing trend of old guys telling me that I have no work ethic because I’m young. This only happens online of course
All this talk about not working hard enough gets redundant imo. I think anyone who loves bodybuilding and/or visits this site is going to work hard. It’s just having passion for something. My work ethic has never held me back and I don’t believe the average poster here is lazy in the gym.
How hard you think you train is a subjective issue. There is a big difference between everyone thinking they work hard and matching the true intensity some of the real gym rats train with.

Intensity isn’t the same as “working hard”…and this alone can make all of the difference when it comes to progress.

I see very few people training with that intensity I see the really big and strong guys train with…even though I am sure they would ALL claim they “train hard”.
Completely agree … I think a lot of people, unless they have prior experience being pushed physically out of their comfort zone via athletic coaches or the military, completely shut down at the first sign of training “pain” …

They think they are working hard, but the frame of reference just isn’t there … One mans pain threshold is another mans warmup …
A lot of people probably do shut down like you say. But that to me means they don’t enjoy lifting. I love the thrill of pushing for that last rep and always trying to beat a PR. Unless I was sick, I’ve always trained that way.

The weekend warriors are out there for sure, I just don’t like to assume who is who.

The point is not to worry about it, who cares if he’s juiced or not. If the guy looks like you want to look, and you think he’s knowlagable about training, then train like he says, to try and look like him. All through the 70s and 80s millions of kids wanted to look like Arnold, so they followed his advice. They didn’t stop and think about weather he did steroids or not, and think if he’s a liar, or not, should I listen to him or not.

This whole atitude is wrong, a big guy got that way because he firgured out what works with training - rest - nutrition, so he has somthing to share. Wasting your fucking time reading internet rummor’s about someone, and debating if he’s on juice or not, sure as fuck isn’t going to get you big and strong, but taking his advice, and following it with 100% intensity will sure as fuck get you alot further. The millions of kids that followed Arnolds advice, back before the internet, actually got somwhere, and some of them grew up to be pros themselves

Debating if someones on steroids or not, is retarted, and gets you absolutly nowhere, except being another skinney guy on the internet talking shit

But, why is it assumed that this is all the guys “talking shit” are doing? Why is it that if anyone calls a big guy out, they must be some jealous shit-talking skinny guy? Many of the guys on here “hating” hit the gym just as hard as the next guy. I know that, just because I don’t respect Kali or some such guy much, that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop giving it my all in the gym for whatever reason.

Im not saying juicing matters but how can you believe in someones advice if he lies about things? Wheres the credibility at . Arnold never lie . I havent heard Jay Cutler or Phil lie either and thats why they aren’t getting the shit that Kali getting.

Really have you heard of some of this guy’s advice lol? So much bullshit. Against creatine as well.

but whatever. i guess im just hating lol

I watched a Kali video a couple of years ago where he’s walking down the train tracks, talking about how he built all his muscle using a towel, or what not. I thought he was an idiot, so I haven’t watched another one of his vids since. I see his vids all over you tube, but I don’t click on them, because I don’t like his speil.

CT Fletcther, on the orther hand, I get a kick out of his vids, similar speil, but I like his vids for some reason, so I think I’ve watched them all. He motivates me to work harder in the gym, somtimes I watch his vids right before I go to work out. Is he a liar, is kali a liar, I don’t know, they’re a couple of guys that have found a way to make a living doing what they love. they both created a fictional character to make money, and you call them liar’s. They could be out robbing people, or selling drugs, then you’d call them crimminals.

I guess by the way you judge people I’m a liar, 5yrs ago I opened up a shiney, glitzy, franchise gym, the kinds of place I would never step foot in. People come in, and I give them circuit programs, where they bounce around from one shiney machine to another. I know they’ll never see any results from it, but I tell them it’s just what I did to build my body. They don’t want to here that I slaved away for years on basic barbells, and that I like long low test cycle’s, so I guess I’m a liar. They’ll stop comming after a month anyway, and I’ll keep billing them 40$ a month for the next 5yrs. Such is life, I train in my garage, but I love owning a gym.

Life isn’t fair, in case you haven’t heard. The wolrd revolves on money, and we all got to make it. Being able to make a living from what you love, thats the dream, some people get there, and some don’t. I figire there’s two kinds of people in this world. The one’s that do shit, and the one’s that talk shit. This applys to all aspects of life, from working out, to buisness, to relationships, to whatever. You either get up and get it done, and do what you have to to get there, or you don’t, and generaly these people hold resentment to the ones that accomplish things, so it seems.

Anyway I have clients to train, and you probably have a dead end job to go to, so Latter

You may find this rude, but you should find it fucking motivating, because thats the point, if you have so much to say, then start your own You Tube channel. Stop hating, and start creating, it’s that easy, you just have to do it, but sitting around bitching won’t get you there

This is where it gets weird.

So it’s all about the kids and recovery and pointing them in the right direction. Until the next page. Then it’s about training hockey teams. Until the next page. Then it’s about running cycles and getting paid by suckers.

So its like the veil slowly lifts to reveal the true nature.

Same thing with Icons like Arnold. As a kid I had no preconceived notions about what it took. Early on I was lifting in my older cousins basement. They were massive to a little guy like me. One played college football and the other sold steroids and various other recreational drugs. They were pretty straight forward about it- Like, keep lifting and if you want to get really big we’ll hook you up when you get older. Not everybody is exposed to that so early on though.

Some people actually buy into the notion that if they eat their Wheaties and work real hard they can take the stage and walk away with the big trophy. Kinda like that you can be president/astronaut bullshit we used to hear all of the time.

When people see these icons like Arnold, they don’t see a bunch of empty ampules, masturbating old men with deep pockets and well established business men salivating at the prospect of new talent. They don’t see an entourage of controllers and trainers and drug dealers. They see the image. And when they find out what is behind it they are disappointed.

Can you blame them? I mean, they dedicate countless hours in an attempt to achieve what amounts to a well orchestrated illusion.

So yeah, people call steroids on people who use steroids. Where’s the harm in that?
SkyzykS wrote:

I can blame them. I was like you…I never once believed that because the Olympic gymnast who won gold did so because she ate Wheeties. I figured all of that training had way more to do with it.

I really don’t have much sympathy for what you described because it still comes down to genetics in the end.

Bottom line, the reason you aren’t 340lbs of solid muscle is NOT because you just didn’t take steroids.

Yeah, you are…and you sound like the rest of gen-youtube. You are more concerned with things many of us would have considered pure gossip when we started lifting.

As a newb, I ran up to a guy who had competed in NPC contests regularly and asked how long he had been training.

He said, “6 years” as he stood there at 260lbs with veins showing everywhere. I lost my mind thinking he had really done all of that in only 6 years.

Then I kept lifting…and got bigger…and got to the point that people would randomly ask me questions about training all day.

My answers have ranged from; “I don’t train at all…genetics”…to …“only on Jewish Holidays”.

I became friends with that competitor later and learned how he had really trained.

I guess my point is, grow up a little. No one owes you a biography with lie detector results.

Yeah, that is true.

I was approached a few years ago by an NPC judge that I know casually. He was encouraging me to start competing at a different weight class. I told him very simply that I don’t have any inclination to do what is required to compete in bodybuilding. There really isn’t nor has there ever been room to undertake such a thing.

So why aren’t you 340 and contest ready?

Oh it’s still about hockey player’s, and young athlete’s, but that gym won’t make me a living, so the 400 or so people that join, and don’t stay comitited, but keep paying for years out of giult, they keep the doors open, and the lights on for those of us willing to put the work in.

last year I got put on house arrest for a year or two, and it’s the first time in a long time that I’ve had the time to devote solely to my own training. I set my sights on a world record, 1900lb total raw in the 220lb class. Everyone that here’'s this laughs at me, but here I am 8mths latter, and I’m sitting at 1400lbs, haven’t started using gear yet, or adding in wraps and a belt. It’s a 10yr plan, and it dosen’t matter what anyone thinks, because I believe it. The guy that holds the record now only lives 3hrs from me. I say if he can do it, why can’t I.

If you don’t shoot for the star’s, then you’ll never get to the clouds, and all the people lauging, they’re the same one’s that laughed when I said I was going to open my own gym. I had no money in my pocket, and eveyone said I was crazy. Ya just crazy enough to get shit done. I don’t beieve in limits, I believe in goals, and hard work. What one man can do, another can do ! All the peolle lauging, and sayiong I can’t do this, while they’re still working they’re dead end jobs, rubbing they’re pot belly’s, and crying into they’re case of beer every week-end, and I’m putting the work in.

Every journey starts with one step, but the people pointing finger’s and setting limitations are stuck on they’re computer’s comming up with excuses, afraid to make that step. I’m done here, good luck in life

I share that mindset. I have tried to discuss this many times before but have been told it is all “beating dead horses”.

There are tons of people who are gm goers now…but you don’t see as many hard core gym rats anymore. Maybe it is all about “counting macros” alone.
