Injury? Middle Ab Pain

Ran into an unusual pain this morning while doing some box jumps. After a few jumps I had a sudden sharp pain across the area around my middle abs, probably about three or four inches from my sternum.

Anyway, it was bad enough to keep me from continuing the box jumps (which I added to my routine last week) and tonight I was barely pulling myself around on my stomach and it hit again, maybe a bit stronger than before and more on the left side than all the way across. The pain actually feels like its more ‘on top’ of the abs, than ‘inside’ the ab.

Does this sound like an injury or more of a muscle pull or fascia irritation? Any comments or recommendations? I’ll have to wait and see how I feel tomorrow morning, but I’d rather not miss out on my regular Wednesday weight training. Right now it feels kind of sore just sitting, but not very bothersome.

Thanks!

It seems to have gotten better, the pain not being as sharp, but I’m still wondering if this is simply a pull. I haven’t experienced a pulled muscle in my abs before, so I’m wondering how long I should rest it.

I walked this morning, instead of lifting because its definitely still there, but not as sharp as before. It mainly catches with a downward pull. But not really in any other directions. And its staying on the left side.
