Injured Forearms

Alright, I’ve managed to screw up both of them. I’ve lifted for years and do alot of grip and hand work but I think it is heavy pulls (chins, deads, rows) that caused the injuries (long term–sore for months but now hurts to even hit a golf ball). I’m gonna have to use straps to give the forearms time off, is there any advantage to compression–ace bandages–while lifting? Also it’s the pulls that hurt, whaddayall think about continuing to use grippers etc? (they dont hurt).

If you stick out your arm like a handshake, I’m hurt basically along the line from thumb to bicep. I appreciate any help or suggestions guys. Thanx.

I know how you feel, been there done that and hated it!

I had a similar injury from doing Chin-ups. I took a couple weeks off and it didn’t even make a small dent in the pain!

I decided to continue training and use hooks. I also did not do Chin-ups. I did Pull-ups instead, that helped a bit. Forearm injuries seem to take far longer than most others. Could be because of the small muscles and tendons involved compared to other areas. I don’t know for sure.

Also, use lots of ice, that seemed to help. No amount of wrapping helped me.

Good Luck Man,
