Inexpensive Watch for Intervals?

Not sure if this is the right forum but here’s my question. I’m looking for a cheap digital watch that can do intervals with a loud enough alarm to hear in a gym.(or vibrate). I’d like it to be able to do at least 2 intervals at once (for tabatas) and allow me to program the number of rounds for the intervals. I’d like it to be under $50.

I think this one does it but I’m hoping someone can make a recommendation based on experience.

I think there might have been a thread on this before. Not too sure. Might be worth a search.

I’m thinking about getting one of these and one for my dad for part of his christmas gifts.

Get the gym boss!

The gymboss looks awesome. As I was googling tabata timers, I came across some posts about using an mp3 player as a “tabata player”. Being the IT nerd I am, I made an mp3 file that plays a single tone every 20 seconds and a longer single tone every 30 seconds. I’ll see how this works out. The best part is I can merge it with whatever song I want to work out with and the beeps play in the background of the song.

I have that watch for the same purpose. It’s not really loud enough for a gym, as the tones vary between a longer, louder sound and a simple, short beep which is easy to miss.

Yeah I read a review that for intervals shorter than 15 seconds the beep is very faint and not loud enough to hear at a gym. Thats what made me pass on it.

I got this last month and love it. Best gadget to get since it beeps AND/OR vibrates and does intervals easily. It can also attach to a belt, waist band, sock, etc.

I have a Mio, it has a timer, its easy to use, and it measures your heart beat. I think it was like 35 to 45 bucks at walmart…
