Individual Arm or Same Time?

I’m going to pose as a beginner for the sake of getting this answered.

let’s say, DB curls. right-left-right-left for a set of 10 (1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 2, etc) or same time for set of 10; which is (God forgive me for using this word) “better” ? same question for alternating DB bench, and such.

To me it really doesn’t make a difference. I prefer concentration curls. Sometimes I will do (at least used to) alternating each arm, or doing something similar to what you posted. The end goal is hypertrophy, correct? I’ve never done alternating db bench. Typically they are done at the same time for balance issues.

right, I hear that alternating them forces you to balance, but that seems too much like those guys who say to do pushups on a bosu ball, so I find it scetchy.

I might, but I still want to know the benifits. anyone know this? or is it just some kind of unwritten rule?

Alternating would give you a little rest between each rep and should allow you to get a slightly higher volume. Doing one side at a time allows you to maintain constant tension longer and would give you a better pump.
