I’ve been lifting for about a year and a half now and at first I did TBT to lose a lot of weight.
Now that I’m trying to gain some mass I noticed increased DOMs.
I drink Surge during and post workout and I eat a healthy meal consisting of carbs and protein about an hour afterwards. I eat 6-7 times a day. I basically follow all of John Berardi’s rules.
I noticed espeically after leg days that two or three days after I really can barely walk. Not that I don’t like the pain/soreness it’s just quite annoying now after I’ve been trying to bulk for about 2 or 3 months and every week I go through msot of the week unable to walk right.
Am I overtraining my legs on those days? Should I lessen the weight? I only squat 295 and my leg press is around 800lbs. I don’t find it that difficult to do the exercises it’s just the DOMs thats driving me insane.
I like DOMS, means it’s working. I don’t think there is much you can do about it but try fish oils and maybe some ibuprofen after squats to help with inflammation.

Making progress means its working, DOMS has nothing to do with it.
OP : are you doing any kind of active recovery ? Stretching, ART, Contrast baths, etc
For me, doing ~15-30mins of very light cardio AFTER working legs helps to shorten recovery time tremendously

And eventually it should go away. I can train the shit out of my upper body and maybe my chest with get a little sore on occasion, but nothing gets sore like my legs. The other day I did a simple workout of upper push and lower push, squats and pistols and the next day my ass was killing, that must have been the pistols bc they are new into my regime and man do my quads burn while doing them.
