Inception Movie

Another thing that made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

There is a scene where Leo is in Africa, (maybe he’s looking for a blood diamond tehe) and these guys start chasing him and are shooting at him. WHo were those guys, why were they chasing him, and why was he even in Africa for Fucksake? Kind of random. It was like one second him and Ellen are hanging out and then he goes “I’ll be back, I’m going to Africa.”
Dude seriously they explained this. He was recruiting Eames Mombasa the African place was very close to his previous employer who was pissed he didn’t deliver Saito’s secret.

That makes sense and is what I assumed, but I couldda swore he said “I can tell if I’m in someone elses dream.” to the girl, what you say makes more sense, but then why can no one else know about how it is supposed to fall (he tells the girl not to tell him, the other guy won’t show the dice).

Also does touching it ruin it (not sure if he says this) cuz the old asian man touches it at the beggining/end meaning it wouldn’t matter what it did at the end.
They were in the dream when he touched it. But, thinking about it why would it matter if someone else touched it in real life? Why would it have to be completely unique to you? It’s not like no one’s ever held dice, or a monoploy piece. That makes just about anything you could use as a totem unable to be unique. Honestly, this movie was kind of disappointing. There was a lot of really confusing shit going on and not an awful lot of explanation. Originl doesn’t always = good.

Ahh the hate begins to flow from the source. The totem could not be held by anyone else in reality because if they did it might transfer over into the dreamworld. it needed to be specific to them that’s why JGL’s character had LOADED die they had to have a specific weight and heft. The top stops spinning in the real world, it didn’t stop in the dream world. The Die would land on a random number in the dream world and because it was loaded it would land a specific # every time in the real world. JGL’s character explained it to the chick AND DiCaprio’s character explained it.

Yes it was a complicated and very original movie but if you guy’s paid close attention to it then you would see that they explained the concept numerous times.

So put the Haterade away Flash, Expendibles comes out in about two weeks you can drink deeply then. Because we all know you will.

I’m done. I’ve tried giving you the benefit of the doubt, Flash. I really did.

So pootie tang, if someone else touches it in there dream the totem will no longer show they are in a dream in the other persons dream. But since the owner has touched it, it will not tell them if they are in there own dream correct. I don’t think this stuff is makeing sense.

Also the dice totem is a dumbass idea, still got a one in six chance that you will think your in the real world when your not. So is the pawn or whatever, it still can by chance fall in the direction it’s supposed to in reality while in the ream world, the only good one is the top.

Also why would the tops actions be predictable in someone elses dream. Couldn’t it do all sorts of different things in there dream world. I think I might have to just suspend my disbelief, top falls not in someone elses dream, if it doesn’t in someone elses dream.

I’m ninety percent sure dicaprio says “someone else’s dream” whats the concensus it tells him if he is in his own dream as well or not, if it does it would make no sense why others could not touch it, if he could touch it and it still worked in his dream.

Dear God man.

Nice Common quote, but usually disappointment and not liking something go hand in hand. Here are the reasons I liked it. I kinda already stated why I liked it but let me reiterate:

The cinematography was insane, I saw it on Imax which totally enhanced the scope of some of the set pieces.
It’s pacing grabbed you instantly and MADE you pay attention to every nuance in each scene.
It made rules for the world it created and followed those rules to a tee.
There wasn’t a GTFO action sequence in the entire movie (with the exception of the projections having horrible aim)
The hallway scene was FUCKING BANANAS!
It gave plenty of food for thought, the complexity of your dreams and is it really a mirror of your subconscious.
The last 30 minutes kept you at the edge of your seat.
I have never cared so much about a car chase scene since Matrix Reloaded.
The ending kept you guessing.
The acting was impeccable.
You can watch it twice and get a totally different yet enriching experience. Kinda like Watchmen.

My only negative of this movie was…there wasn’t any tits in it.

I agree with most of your points. The cinematogrophy was killer. I imagine seeing it in IMAX would enhance the visual experience. Even though my initial reaction was disappointment, I will see it again [on IMAX this time] and try and pick up what I missed the first time.

I will say, that even though I was a little disappointed I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. That’s a helluvan accomplishment for a damn near 3 hour movie. I’d like to know how long it took them to come up with this. The detail in this movie is pretty insane.

Great fucking movie! I saw in in Imax and the visuals were insane the last 1/2 hour was ridiculous. The hallway seen was probably THE best action sequence I’ve seen in quite some time. The sound design was awesome! Christopher Nolan is the best when it comes to psychological thrillers. As far as whether the end was a dream or not, I think the conversation he had with the kids on the phone was very weird.:

SPOILER

Damn you pootie, I was about to ask that same question. At one point during hid conversation the kid sounded almost like a pre-teenager.

Did anyone notice that during the conversation with the kids that there voices went from younger to older a couple times? Also when he was talking to his wife in limbo she was saying how his own subconscious was actually the people trying to attack him not any actual “corporation”. I think the entire movie might have been a dream and it’s gonna take multiple viewings for me to really decipher what really happened.

I think you might have had unattainable hopes for this movie. Or you might have just watched it on a purely surface level. If you give couldn’t take your eyes off the screen then that had to mean something.

I forgot to add the sound track was freakin awesome. It just enhanced the tension of some of the scenes.

The whole movie I will give a “B” since it gave me the feel of “The Matrix” and could not stop thinking about how much it felt like the Matrix only in concept. It was a very well made movie and even though it was long. The Movie moved fast. Well paced out and did not give you feeling that it had any filler in it.

You will watch the movie and find yourself looking at the background trying to figure out clues you may feel the director dropped in or not. Its like a good book that takes you away for a while which is what a good Scifi movie should do.

“Spoiler”

I did feel that the conversation with the kids at the begining of the movie was a clue.

Also I thought the top had started to slow and fall as the clip ended. But nice touch by the director on not having it actually fall on screen.

I’ve thought about that a lot. At first I thought it was the phone switching back and forth between the kids, but when we see them at the end there’s no way that the girl sounded like that. The more I think about it, the more the ending seems like he was still dreaming 'cause he saw his children as he remembered them. Shit, maybe the whole movie was Tom’s dream, and he just kept going into deeper levels, and we followed him every step down.

The score was dope, I’ll give you that. All of Nolan’s movies are super atmospheric and have scores that enhance that. I actually went in trying to have no expectations, but guess that didn’t work. I was disappointed but I’m still thinking about it a full 48hrs later, so they did something right.

amazing movie, this should help clear shit up for people.

Ive got a pretty good grasp of what happened, so if anyone is confused on a part lemme know.

^OK Questions:
And this is my 3rd attempt “Spoilers”.

Cobb’s Anchor - Was it the Spinning Top? or his Childrens Faces? If you remember the top belonged to his wife. We never seen his he takes it from her dream safe. Also he never wanted to know to much of the layouts or plans since he was worried his memory of his wife would come in and mess things up if she knew to much in advance.

The Original Architect- What happened to old boy? They just dragged him off seemed like he would pop up later?

I think he adopted her Anchor as his own once she died. Only him and her actually know the weight and feel of it.

His children faces…he hadn’t seen their faces for at least a year, so he made sure to never see their faces again unless it was real life. Kind of like another way of distinguishing a dream from real life.

Original Architect - Was turned into the Organization that Leo and Levit worked for. Probably killed for his failure.

^So he actually had 2 Anchors. 1 was his wife’s top and the other was his childrens faces. Because in the end even though he spinned the top he actually was waiting to see if he would see there faces. He did not care if the top stopped.
