In the Market for a Squat Belt

I am officially in the market for a new squat belt after my last one broke. I’m looking for something not too expensive (under $85-110. I’m a BROKE college kid) that is pretty dang sturdy.

I’m for sure going for the 10 mm belt, but I am not so sure about whether or not to spring for the lever action or just the regular old single prong.

Any recommendations on belts I should look for?

I’d check out APT’s belts. Maybe Titan TORO’s or Inzer’s 10mm Forever belt. Can’t go wrong with them and they will last.

I’d go with a single prong. The lever belts are slow to adjust and kind of a pain. I’ve heard of the belts popping open when the user messes up and doesn’t latch it down all the way. With a single prong this can never happen. My 2 cents…

I tried out a single prong the other day and I loved the heck out of it. I wish I could get my hands on a lever to check it out.

Have you tried out the Forever belt?

I currently own a size MED 12mm Inzer Forever belt and have outgrown it. Now I have a size large 12mm Forever belt. It’s like wrapping an I beam around my waist. I love it.

Inzers Forever belts are the way to go

What size waist do you have? I’m rocking 34 or 36 pants right now

I wear 34 or 36 jeans too. My waist at my belly button measures 41". My belt is a zize large (Inzer). I put the prong right in the middle of the holes. There are 9.That’s when I’m raw. If I use it with my suit on I need 2 more holes. (I wear a Metal ACE) in case you were wondering. I also have a Titan Centurion which I only need one more hole than raw.

My size MED in the same belt. I am in the last hole- raw, suited forget it…not happening…

Inzer 13mm Forever LEVER belt! I love it! Get the 13mm or you will regret it.

What makes you say that? How long did it take you to break yours in?

I’m not too worried about my size geared, other than the occasional set of briefs I don’t rock gear that much. I think I’m going to go with the large, I wouldn’t want to cut it too close even though I am looking to gain some weight here pretty soon

I think you’ll be happy with that choice.

before you buy check out Bobs belts. They are pretty cool as you can get the 2 and 3 tone and exotic leathers and he will embroider your name in the belt if you want to. They have a 3 week or so lead time though. Oh, and Crains has belts too. But if you want it in the next couple days, Inzer stocks black. IF you want a different color, say red they have a 2 or 3 wek lead time or something like that. The info is on their site.

edit: elite fts has belts again… these would also be an excellent choice.

The 13mm just feels so much better than the 10mm. The 10mm feel cheap and flimsy compared to a 13mm, plus if you get a lever belt, the levers are the same size so there is a little play with the prongs on a 10mm as opposed to the 13mm. The 13mm just feels better. But it is up to you

As far as breaking in the belts, you can break either belt in rather quickly. I take mine and roll it up as tight as I can in one direction and then flip it over and do the same thing the other way (with the lever off the belt). You can also rub in leather conditioner, but I never bothered doing this. Just rolling it up back and forth several times will soften it up pretty quick and then just using it will finish the process.
