As the title suggests, I need a belt. I don’t have a clue what to buy or even what to consider. The ones on FTS are either specifically for bench, deadlift or squat and 1 pronged 2 pronged and different thicknesses (idk the pros/cons of either). I think at this point in time I just need a versatile one that I can put on on my last sets of the day for everything but bench. Any suggestions?
I just bought and absolutely love the MDUSA Powerlifter Belt. I bought the 6.5mm one for a light belt and I like it do much I am about to buy the 13mm one for my heavy of top sets. Its a very versatile and not to bulky so easy for every day every type of movement work. Also its leather so it looks bad ass compared to the suede

Athlete single prong belt.
Best money i ever spent.[/quote]
^this. It came broken in and ready to go. I like the single prong over the lever because I can adjust how tight i want the belt instantly. If you have the cash and don’t want lever, the 10 mm athlete is the way to go
If you want a dirt cheap and effective belt, get the Proflex Sports 4" Suede Power belt. It’s $12, and a great intro belt. If you want to never look back, get the 13mm inzer forver lever belt.

What’s the advantage to the lever

Just easier to put on and take off. How ever if you weight fluctuates or you use different tightness settings for different lifts it can be a bitch to adjust it all the time.

This is why i like single prong.
If you use a different setting for squats and deads its a pain in the ass to have to change it in the gym. I also use different settings as the weight gets heavier. Its really up to you and what fits your needs the most.

What all do you use a belt for?
I only use a belt for over 75% on squats and deadlifts.
I use a lever belt and I love it.
I got the EliteFTS economy belt or whatever. Works great once you break it in.

Only my “1” and “3” sets on squat dead and sometimes OHP…it sounds like so far I don’t want a lever and I want 13 mm. Thanks for everything guys I really appreciate it. I would hate to invest a good chunk of change and not be happy with it

I also find I can get it tighter with a lever compared to a pronged belt.
I never really had difficulty adjusting the settings. I can do it with a quarter in a few minutes.
I got an EFS P2 lever belt. Fantastic belt, easy on, easy off. Super body conforming and very much sturdy.

^ At my meet this weekend I ended up drinking so much fluid I had to loosen the belt between bench and deadlifts. It took me literally 60 seconds with a quarter to adjust the lever out 1 hole.
A belt? You mean your shorts don’t have a drawstring?

lol, my power belt is made of anti gravity. See, I can only high squat 135 raw but when I put on my belt I can toss around 950 for reps but I only do it once to keep things on the DL…
On a serious note, here is the reason why I do not like my lever belt and wear my single prong Inzer belt 99.9% of the time. See the “extra” part of the belt. Where the arrow is? Well, that extra bit is inside the waistline & pokes me in the stomach. I freaking hate extra shit on the inside of the belt. It stabs me in the hips most of the time.
I’ve contemplated cutting it off but haven’t so as to not ruin the belt. The adjustment piece is not terribly time consuming but it does take a min and I just don’t like having to constantly fuck with shit. YES you absolutely can get the belt tighter with a lever belt but aren’t we supposed to leave it semi loose anyways so that we can push the gut into the belt? To each is own right?
I have never had the belt pop open on me powerlifting but I have had it pop on me doing strong man shit. The feeling of my guts flopping out suddenly while flipping an 800# tire was unforgettable lol.
Last tip. consider getting a belt that has a large adjustability range. Inzer adjusts just a few inches. I went from a medium to a large in just a few years. If I had bought a large I could have been GTG. One can make a belt smaller by adding a few hole of your own if necessary but it’s length is fixed.
Yes!
I can only bench 95 raw but when i put a suit and belt on im hitting reps in the mid 8s
This is why i reccomend best belts.
They take absolute pride in their belts. Dean the owner will call you and verify exactly what you want. I asked him if he could make my belt with a range from 32-44 and he said no problem. So now i can grow and shrink and not have to worry about fitting into my belt.
