Improving the Forums

You don’t need to pay the contributors more. You could go to local BB shows and ask some of the competitors to post on the site, they have first hand experience so their knowledge would be appreciated.

I’m well aware of the free articles, that’s what draws the mass numbers to this site.

T-Nation is defiantly unique in the sense of its daily articles. But compared to other Weightlifting boards, the discussion aren’t up to par.

Thats what the T-Cell is for.
Except the T-Cell has countless people who have joined just a few months ago with only a few posts. I wouldnt call it the most knowledgeable forum on the internet thats for sure.

I don’t get what all the bitching is about.

People who want to excel in bodybuilding or powerlifting, will find there way. I doubt anyone who has made an impact in either sport did so by never doing some research and hard work.

So why do people get that upset when there are the same dumb questions asked over and over and answered by morons. I learned pretty quickly who knows their shit on these forums and who doesn’t.

I think most of you lose faith in these sports because you see the newbs who come here as always being newbs. In reality I’m sure many will do the all the wrong things, then slowly start to realize their faults and find the right way. The rest will give up and clear the way for everyone else and will have unintentionally expanded these sports and Biotest by showing interest and purchasing supplements.

There’s really too many articles being pushed out for the same reason the forums are flooded with bros - there isn’t anything new in weight training that hasn’t been known for 40 years. The exception to this is chemical enhancement, which has progressed more slowly due to legal restrictions.

It might be a better use of many of the authors’ time to browse the general forums more often and write fewer articles.

Hey, I have some questions on being Canadian. You have some first hand knowledge, so I’d like to ask you a few questions. It’ll only take about half an hour a day.

You wouldn’t take time from your busy day to answer my stupid questions. Why should they take time from their busy day to answer yours and everyone else’s?

Like you already said, the forums have declined in quality a lot. We don’t need CT to come on here and tell us creatine isn’t a steroid. We don’t need Dan John to come on here and tell us doing snatches for 40 reps is a bad idea.

Are you getting the point?

I just made a point in a post adressing this.

Half of the posts here are “I can’t gain weight” or “Can I take every single supplement ever made at the same time?”

We don’t need the authors here to give us the answers to that. The other half of the posts here don’t exactly warrant an answer from some of the best in the business, either.

For the record, CT does post around here every once in a while. His posts are usually in the T-Cell, or at the very least threads that display a degree of intelligence in them.

It literally is a waste of their time to answer these questions on a forum for a bunch of strangers when they can fit in another client during their day and make more money.

All of that said, I do think it would be cool to have authors post here, as it’s always cool to read posts from people like Bill Roberts and CT, but I do think it’s too much for us to ask of them to post on a regular basis.

Are you some kind of communist?

Do you not value the time and effort that those people put forth professionaly or personaly?

Heres an idea- Go get a minimum of a bachelors degree related to exercize science, place in the top three of either a powerlifting or body building competition, then come on back and just give away everything that you accumulated over the time it took you to accomplish these things.

It’s YOUR idea. Now go do it.

The real problem with the forums is posts not showing up for an hour, time traveling back to December, constant errors, and other various things like that.

You could stop posting. That would give them less work to do in the same amount of time.

Come on, man.

The world is riddled with people that cannot relate to BB. The majority of people that talk about training/nutrition in the real world are fat and weak who base arguments on “bro-knowledge” and often have no scientific evidence to back up their statements.

I am not here to put down the human race, I just think their is room for improvement. My suggestion to the world is to encourage the gifted amongst us to speak louder. These educated people need to create interesting tv shows on nutrition, BB shows, new research and any thing related to BB/Powerlifting!

The human race needs to be revamped with legitimate knowledgeable humans. I love the world, I just hope humans are willing to make it better and more educational.
Fixed that for you.

The authors don’t have time to browse the fourms.

Most of them have their own sites/blogs which they would obviously rather spend their time on. As well as doing their jobs (Cressey works long hours), answering emails relating to their products, fitting their own workouts in and spending time with their partners and having a life of their own I don’t blame them.

Like rrjc said, CT does post sometimes around here but thats on the rare occassion a worthwhile topic does come up. Plus he does have a 200 odd page Q&A which he does out of his own goodwill and is unfortunately full of dumb questions.

While it is annoying seeing 5 threads of the exact same thing on the same page, nobody is forcing you to read them all. And if the noob is stupid enough not to do a search and is given bad advice, then thats his problem.

i know i don’t post a lot, but shut up noob, this is the best bodybuilding/fitness site on the interweb
