Im Having Surgery on Friday

On Friday I’m having Tommy John Surgery (elbow ligament reconstruction). I’ll be in and out of the hospital that day, but the surgery isn’t till 3:30. I can’t eat anything after 12:00 am Friday morning. Actually I can have juices (no citrus), but no solids or milk proteins.

Anyway, what should I eat on Thursday so that I’ll be digesting all day friday? I really don’t want anymore catabolism and I’m pretty sure being cut open isn’t great for hormone levels.

Right now I’m thinkin’ craploads of milk, nuts, steak, and fiber throughout the day, and pretty much the same with a crapload of fiber right before 12.
Any suggestions to slow digestion?

I wouldnt worry about it.If they are putting you out the anesthesia will fuck you up anyway and your appetite will be off for a couple days.Thurs night meals arent going to matter too much in the grand scheme.

Nine surgeries to attest to this last post.

All that looks half appetizing after surgery are some saltines and a bathroom, so you can piss like Tom Hanks character in ‘A League of their Own.’

ah well, theres always force feeding…

Yea I’ll post back if I eat anything I regret and it would be worth hearing.

The meal was a 1/2 gallon of milk, 2 eggs, a steak, and 20g of milled flax. No problems yet.

I woke up from surgery at 8 p.m. Dehydrated and nauseus. At first I couldn’t hold down ice chips but some of the anastesia wore off and then I was good. I had some apple juice and saltines and then puked when I got home.

I sipped cranberry juice for a while and went to bed at 10:00 I woke up around 10:30 starving. So since then I’ve had a box and a half of triscuits, a protein shake, 4 cups of cranberry juice, 1/2 a pound of chicken or so, half a steak, a few slices of cheese, a quart of milk, and a crapload of ham, eggs, and toast for breakfast.

Oh and doubling the dose on an anti-nausea drug made me kinda sick. My dad thought he was handing me two vike 10:375’s and instead gave me a double dose of the anti-nausea stuff.
