Good look Jordan, must’ve been a pretty stacked class if you didn’t place!
Congrats on the contest.
How many competitors and what did you think the guys that placed had that you didn’t? Just wondering as I have no experience of physique class and it would be cool to get your opinion on it as you competed ![]()

Hey bro,
There where 10 competitors all up i think, they all just had more size than me, also my shoulders, arms and calfs need a lot of work to keep up with these guys. i was also in the Tall Open class so thats the biggest guys in physique… need to put on another 10kg of lean muscle to get a really good placing

Congrats on the contest Jordz, getting up there ain’t easy, and the dedication to diet and training certainly takes things up a notch from what the average gym going crowd has to deal with. Much respect.
You definitely looked good, but as you already realized, you need more size. This is a common issue even in the bodybuilding divisions, where an athlete looks great by himself but when up onstage surrounded by other competitors, weaknesses become more apparent. Physique is a rough class in that while size isn’t the main goal, a lot of less experienced competitors forget that it’s still required to some degree. Believe me, I’ve seen plenty of NPC shows where every guy with a six pack but not wanting to get as big as a bodybuilder tosses on a pair of board shorts, hops onstage expecting to place well and gets a harsh dose of reality instead.
I have no doubt that you will continue to improve and do better in the future, and certainly hope that you keep us informed. Go get 'em brother!

Thanks mate, yeah thats the plan, keep on improving and get back up there ![]()
Yeah i agree with you…
Hey guys,
Finally got a video of my class at the night show! This is what i was up against. The guy in the Orange and Blue shorts won the overall.
Hey guys,
What does everyone think? Left? Or right?
Similar times of the year but two totally different prep types.
Would be good to get some opinions ![]()
Your color is better on the right, but conditioning is considerably tighter on the left. So as far as your physique, left, but you needed more color
Here is what you need to improve the most if you wanna be competitive
-
Stop sucking your abs in, it doesnt look good, your stomach needs to be tight and flexed but also “flat”
-
Your abs are not symmetrical, you need to find a way to pose to minimize this
-
Your delts, especially side delts, need to be worked the most
-
You need a bit more upper chest mass
You do not need to bring up the calves, lower body isnt judged
Good job
As far as which pic is better, as pwolves said your color is better on the right, although I think you are too oily and instead of bringing out the shape it makes you look softer. You just need a TINY BIT of glaze
Your leaness is better on the left
Left as well.
Zraw, can you elaborate about your 2nd point?

Sure
His abs arent in straight lines if you compare left and right side
