Has anyone here ever tried Ian King’s squat program? What were your experiences on it? Did it improve your squat and so fourth? Thanks
do you have link to it or can you post it here?
I would like to see what it is.
I don’t have a link but if you do a search you can find it.
Maybe it’s because I just finished reading Chris Shugart’s “How to Make Friends” Web Log, but IMHO, if you’re asking for advice about a program, it is common courtesy to post a link to that program. Even if someone has never done that particular program, if they read over it, they may respond with something like “I did something similar and it was great/it sucked/it hurt real bad.”
Telling someone who may have some good advice to “go do a search” seems a bit rude.
Here is the squat program.
Now, if giving advice about a program, I think it is okay to tell someone to search the archives provided you give them some direction. Example:
Q: I’m interested in adding mass to my legs, not necessarily looking to increase 1RM. Anyone know of a good squat program?
A: Yes, Ian King wrote about one recently. Please do a search.
Notice that the question was fairly specific. If it had asked about a program for strength, then the response could have mentioned something else, e.g. Coach Davies stuff.
Finally, it is sometimes totally appropriate to tell someone to “Search the T-mag archives you fucking moron.” Example:
Q: Dudes, I need hyooge legs, what do I fkn do? Laters.
A: Search the T-mag archives you fucking moron.
Here, the question was not specific about any type of goal, the grammar was atrocious. Thus, the poster was obviously a moron and not deserving of an intelligent response.
Thanks Mike, did not mean to be vague to anyone. BTW I would have posted the link from King’s site but the links do not work.
On a side note what programs are good for increasing one 1RM for the squat? Thank You
