Ian King - Get Buffed

Has anyone read this book?? I am thinking of buying it but want to make sure it is money well spent. Any input is appreciated. I have also read Poliquin’s Priniciples and loved it, though I think it is a little too much work for me (I am natural with average recovery). Thanks for the advice in advance.

Get it! Its an awsome book. I personally think it blows Poliquin Principles out of the water. Ian’s workouts are less volume so it sounds like its right up your alley. It’s money well spent.

“Get Buffed” is awesome. I have re-read it twice, I have taken notes to apply to my workouts, and I am about to re-read it again. I always seem to learn something new each time. Ian’s training information is top knotch. I also own The Poliquin Principles, and I think this book is much better with more information and lower volume workouts. I’ve been following his 12-week Limping and Super Strength workouts with good results so far. My only problem with “Get Buffed” is the amount of editing and spelling errors. I have the first edition, and it is very annoying to read through all the errors. I have told Ian about this, and he said the second edition was re-edited. I haven’t seen it, but I’m sure there are still plenty of errors. As long as you can look past the editing mistakes, the book is well worth the money. I have also purchased Ian’s “How to Write Strength Training Programs.” This book is similar to “Get Buffed,” but does go into greater detail on certain things. Together, these books are the best available. I’ve recently ordered Ian’s Killer Leg Exercises video and can’t wait to see exactly how some of these exercises should be done! So invest in the book…and read it over and over again! You won’t regret it.

I agree with the others, it is a good book, if you can overlook the constant errors. I don’t know how a book like that gets published without proper editing but hey who knows. Yeah it’s worthwhile and should be a staple in your collection
