I Think I'm Going to Do It...

Indeed mine too. And… im 23. We are quite similar in the fact that we also speak similarly about aspirations and the future. Tho. You are 55lbs heavier than me, tho, its a matter of time. So. Without blocking up your log. “keep on trucking”

EDIT: would be cool to see you in the future, when i one day make it to america to compete. natural or not.

Today had to have been the most backward, confusing, flip flop switcharoo, pull a 180 and double backflip of a leg workout i have ever done…but my legs feel fantastic right now…So…i R Confuseld

As stated a mere 2 secs ago, today was weird. One reason, i was in and out in a little over an hour…“WHAT AKUMA, BUT YOU TRAIN FOR 3 HRS!”

slap Sass me again, and ill get the stick.

As i said in my thread in the bodybuilding section, my knee still was feeling awkward, so i basically played the entirety of my workout by ear.

Squats (i did this with a Full forward foot stance, at shoulder width)- 20/bar, 20/95, 20/135, 15/185. At this point, my quads were crying in joy. On the 16th rep, i lowered myself not an inch before it felt like my quads were going to knot the Fook up, and we are talking ‘Bow tie.’

Machine Hack Squats (i adjusted my feet throughout the set, starting out high, and dropping low on the platform)-15/50, 12/90, 12/140

Romanian Deadlifts- 15/bar, 15/95, 15/135

Two legged leg extension- 15/50 X 3
Supersetted
1 legged leg extension (Dont ask my why i did this, i cannot honestly answer. Normally i do my leg extensions 1 legged, so i set it to my 1 legged weight, and then started doing the exercise 2 legged. I was like ‘Meh’ and just continued doing em 2 legged, then just as an added bonus, threw in the leggeds) 5/50 X3

Hamtractor- 15/180 x 3

Hip Abductor- 20/50x3

My legs felt great. I cut out several exercises, used 1/2- 1/3 the weight i normally do (planning on going light anyway, the heavy will be instituted soon enough), and my legs felt great. So i kinda went w/ the flow and enjoyed the ride. The weight was not really difficult, as i was still able to sing along with my favorite songs without missing a beat, but i was dripping sweat by the end of squats. All in all, definitely a good day, im sure my legs appreciate getting some work.

As for mentality…hmm what do i got for you today? Ok, be gentle, this is coming off the top of my head heh…

“Progress further, my broken soul,”
i softly mutter, as i collapse to the floor.
My eyes become heavy, the light fades,
consciousness starts slipping away…
“Wait!” A voice cries out to me,
a shadowed figure, whom i cannot see.
Fire cracks, light expands,
The man in front of me now clearly stands.
“You are not done,” was his gentle remark
“You’ve only just begun,” and disappears with a spark.
Life renewed, strength regained,
I stand erect, unphased by my pain.
“Brush yourself off,” i say under my breath,
“you’re not done.”
“brush yourself off,” I mutter again,
“you’ve only just begun.”

No good eh? Well thats what i get for attempting poetry while eating lol

OK, its late, im tired. So i plan on throwing up my workout very quickly, my usual nonsense may come later, but for now, itll be simply exercises and numbers. AND Fyi, i started the heavier stuff today-

DB press- 15/35, 12/55, 8/80, 8/100, 8/120, 8/140

Db Fly- 10/35, 8/55, 8/75, 8/90

Close incline DB press- 15/40, 8/60, 8/70

Dips- 8/BW, 8/+25, 8/+45, 8/+70

Cable Flies- 10/50, 8/70, 8/90

Seated calf raise- 15/90, 12/180, 12/225, 12/270, 10/310

Standing calf raise- 15/495 x3

Alright, i admit it, i copped out the other day. Im sure some of you were disappointed that i simply updated with a boring Rep/weight scheme, and i apologize.

Alright, down to business- Back/bis/Forearms

Yates Rows (Figured i hadnt done these in awhile, and that my lat width was starting to show that, as i was disappointed in them when looking at the pics posted the other day. So i began implementing these power movements again, tho i will admit, i need to get back to my normaly strength)- 15/95, 12/135, 8/185, 8/225, 8/275 (used to end on 405!)

Pendlay Rows- 8/95, 8/135, 8/185, 8/225

Hs isolateral Row (Love this. Remember to focus on the eccentric motion)- 8/180, 8/270, 8/360, 8/450

Rope Face pulls (Done on a standard cable row, gripping the rope with basically a supinated grip, and pulling to about chin level)- 12/50, 8/80, 8/100, 8/120

BB curl (Didnt get heavy into these, simply used them as a warmup. The main point of these was for Hyena, who completed a full 4 sets. Its my belief that he could still benefit greatly from them)- 15/bar, 12/65 (Performed explosively with eccentric focus)

Close grip Preacher (great Brachialis work)- 8/30, 8/35, 8/40, 8/45

Constant Tension Curls (Definitely a killer. I hate and love CT for bringing my attention to these in one of his videos)- 8/25x2, 8/30x2

Bent Forearm Db curls (done with a max pronated grip, and wrist locked in that position. For Wrist Flexors)- 15/10x2 (all other DBs were missing, so i switched to BBs)

Bent forearm BB curls (same thing)- 15/20x2, 12/40x2

Bent Forearm BB curls (Done with a constant Dorsi flex wrist for the extensors/Brachio)- 15/20, 15/30, 12/40

I felt good today. Really glad i changed things around the past couple of days/weeks. Starting to lift heavier again, and its amazing. Also, looking towards training things like my biceps, which i dont think need a tremendous amount of work anymore, they feel more stimulated per workouts. Im so used to do 3 or 4 exercises with 4 sets on biceps, and now, 2 exercises with 3-4 sets and my biceps are feeling great at the end of the day, AND on til the next couple. My new Pre workout is also fantastic. Its not out of the tub cocaine like Noexplode, so i dont feel cracked out. I just feel like i have the energy, and the strength to just burst through things. Probably next week ill bring my back up to full speed, and get into the seriously heavy stuff, start rowing 405+ again. Im pretty glad i did not rush into things earlier and took these 1-2 buffers weeks of workouts to ease myself back into the heavier weights. It FEELS like the smart thing to do.

So, i noticed pretty early today that the new exercises i did yesterday for my Flexors/extensors/BR really jacked up my forearm. Because of that, grip felt weak, and also raising weights was a task. So i toned things down a bit, as i also didnt have a spotter, and i also cut some things out (traps mainly, i did not feel comfortable with trying to grip some heavy ass weight with my forearms jacked).

Seated Arnold press- 15/30, 8/45, 8/60, 8/75, 8/90, 8/100

Front DB raises- 8/30, 8/35x2, 8/40

lateral DB raises- 8/25, 8/30, 8/35, 8/40

Cable behind the back laterals- 8/30, 8/40, 8/50, 8/60

Tri Rope pressaway (really started feeling my forearms at this point, and my weight reflects that)- 15/50, 8/80, 8/100, 8/120

DB arc- 8/30, 8/35x2

1Hand cable extension- 12/30, 12/40x2

I will probably push traps to another upcoming day. Today i wasnt feeling as great as usual. Had little sleep, followed by an 8am 4hr class. Not to mention a chick from that class found me at the gym, and asked for shadow me/have me train her while she was there. Being who i am, i could not refuse. Tho i will say, i had a tremendous pump going on, namely in my tris. Man i love that feeling. Definitely one of those “ray of sunlight breaking through the clouds” type deal. I cant really explain why.

…sometimes i hate it, hate the pain, hate the stuffing down food, hate stupid people in the gym that i am continuously force to be aorund, occupying space for no fucking reason aside from being able to say “ya i go to the gym.” Hate seeing the parasitic leeches of trainers, sitting women down on Fitness balls, and having them do some retarded halfbreed lat pull/cable curl, all the while, having a constant conversation, not a breath out of rhythm. I often look back at those days, able to appreciate the better ones…How can we know joy without sorrow? How do we experience life if not for pain. Life is fleeting, and thats why it is precious. Its often that we as humans lose track of that, become consume by greed or our own selfish ambitions. The world can be a scary, cold place if you allow it to be. But, as i said it is those days i look back and appreciate, for it is always Darkest just before the dawn…

Thoroughly enjoying reading your log, also enjoy the dbz.
I don’t post too regularly, but I read a shitload and your name is always a priority to follow. Keep it coming, thanks.

Well thank you, im glad to see that. Hope to see you post more =)

Ahh legs- the most hated day of all.

Squats (So, i decided id get a little heavier with these. As i progressed, i was amazed at how light everything felt. I didnt come close to my PRs, but i did start moving some good weight, and it felt great)- 15/135, 15/185, 12/225, 10/275

RDLs- 12/95, 12/135, 12/185

1 legged leg press- 12/90, 12/180, 10/270

Prone leg curls- 15/65, 15/95, 12/125, 12/155

1 Legged leg extensions-12/70, 12/90, 12/110

Hamtractor- 15/225x3

At this point, i was literally dripping wet (when i took off my sweater and threw it in the car, it make a SPLOSH sound). I figured i was good for the day. All in all, i was happy. My legs felt worked well, but not demolished as usual. I went solo today, as we decided to skip yesterday and Tues/thurs are solo days. I walked into the gym roaring. I was literally ready to lift some shit- had my ipod blaring and energy levels were great. Lol unfortunately, today was one of those days where people saw me being alone as an opportunity to question me. I think it took me a good 45mins to finish Squats and RDLs. Oh well, what are you going to do. Currently, i feel…good, happy for some reason. I turned my car into a sauna for the ride home, so getting out of it and feeling the wind felt amazing. Then a cold shower, PHEW, that definitely put some pep back in my step. Currently just letting my PWO shake sit, then in a few i will proceed to make some rice for my PWO meal. Feeling a little bloated right now, so hopefully thatll pass before i have to chow down.

Alright, so i believe i mentioned earlier, i think i may have strained my Brachioradialis. Now, this can be a bit of a problem, as you tend to notice how much it helps lift/adjust/set weights when it is injured. So i did what i could, and powered through my workout. It feels a lot better than the other day, so hopefully the upcoming next 2 days off (yes im taking saturday off as i have to go to an engagement party) will allow it to fully recover. That being said, the workout was still fantastic.

Incline Db press (started extremely light as to assess my BR, seemed ok at this point)- 15/30, 15/55, 12/80, 8/100, 8/120. Didnt have a spotter, and BR was getting a bit tense, so i called it there, otherwise i know i couldve easily pounded out the 140s.

Dips (now, this is one i really felt my BR on. So i kept the weight down, and just slowed the movement, made for a great contraction)- 10/bwx2, 8/+25.

Cable crossovers done at a notch above parallel (I would alternate which arm crossed over, pinch at the top, and focus on the eccentric portion. Ripped my chest to shreds, so much of a great finisher, that i decided to call it after this movement)- 12/30, 10/50, 8/70, 8/90

Seated Calf - 15/90, 15/135, 12/180, 12/225, 12/270, 10/315. My calves felt amazing at this point, and they looked great in the mirror. i really wish my phone didnt have such a shitty camera, otherwise i wouldve posted a pic. And FTR, my calves are creeping up on 20inches

Standing calf- 15/495 x3 (always a marvelous finisher)

Great workout, even with my bum BR. As i said, i powered through it, and would try and roll it out when it started getting tight. Worked great. Got home, took a good cold shower, and threw some heat on it. So hopefully it should be up to speed soon. Hyena has a bit of a cold case going right now, so that explains the past week where everything is solo. He should be up and running soon, and then my lifts will start getting heavier. Im eager, because things are getting lighter and lighter. I find myself pinching more, and holding more negative focus. I feel like im growing. My back is getting better and better, as it looks like ym upper back has literally doubled in the past few. Im really excited with how things are working/going, and once my body gets up to 100%, with these minor trip ups, its going to be a full on sprint for muscle. I cant wait.

Hope the forearm continues to heal up man, I’m enjoying following your sessions

Thanks ash. yea it would be nice. like seriously, studying anatomy and the body works only so far, when you strain/pull something, you really notice the impact it has on your other muscle, and makes you truly appreciate the beauty and complexity of the interwoven workings of the body.

I know what you mean. I had some elbow/wrist pains a while ago, and I couldn’t even squat without it getting in the way. Just moving plates around was more than enough pain. I decided to take CT’s advice on doing push/pull/legs, and starting every push day with shoulder work before moving on to chest, and I the pain was gone in a few sessions. I even increased my training frequency, but emphasizing the shoulders took care of it

Well my arm felt just dandy today, so i began pushing hard again-

Pendlay rows- 15/95, 12/135, 8/185, 8/225

*Yates Rows- 10/95, 10/135, 8/185, 8/225, 8/275, 8/315

Iso lateral HS row- 8/180, 8/270, 8/360, 8/450

Low 1H cable rows- 8/80, 8/110, 8/130, 8/150

Close grip Preacher- 12/30, 10/35, 8/40, 8/45

*Arnold Curls- 8/35, 8/40, 6/50

Kpipe curls w/ EZ curl Bar Wide grip
SUPERSETTED
" " close grip- 15/20, 15/30, 15/45

As i said, my arm felt fine, and i felt great. Loaded up on my new pre, i walked into the gym ready to work. Now, i believe ive said it before, but just incase what im doing now with this new split is 4-5 exercises for the larger muscles, 2-3 for the smaller, putting more focus on the muscles i need more work on. Medium carb day, and just did my tally for the day, sitting at 310 carbs and 3k calories, and only have 1 snack left in my, my pre bed of dairy+fat. Feeling pretty good atm. Macking my Ground beef and Rice, watching the office, and just feeling overall…Good.

Suppose i owe you some sort of deep…something or other eh?

Full moon out tonight…
Looking somewhere, heaving a sigh
Altho i peer up at the midnight sky,
muddied eyes cant reflect the sun, the moon, or the trifling tomorrow.

She lost me at “Willy Nilly”

…Then i saw the end, and realized it was a total joke lol.

only cuz it was in black and white =p

Another solo day for…cue dramatic Music Delts, Tris, and Traps! *Du na naaaa!!!

DB military- 15/35, 12/60, 8/90, 8/110, Fail/130 (now the reason i put that last one on there is because i know i can do it. Ive military pressed 140s before. The issue is getting them up (thats what she said). On an incline bench set for Military press (straight up and down [thats what she said]), there is absolutely no room to sway it up, nor can you kick it up like on an an incline bench set for chest presses. Without a spotter to help me position the weight, i couldnt get the left arm up. I stopped after 1 attempt, got the right up but not the left, only because Guess what reared its ugly head again? Yea thats right, my biceps tendon. The little bitch acted up again, so i figured its best not to give it another go. The tendon was only a little annoying this time, and only lasted til the end of the workout, it feels fine right now. I plan on icing it in a few moments, and getting it to 100%).

*Incline Kai lateral raises- 8/25, 8/30x2, 8/35

Standing lateral raises- 8/25, 8/30, 8/35, 8/40

Rear head DB raises-8/30 (i stopped this here. Most of the dbs i wanted were missing, so i just cut it and jumped on a cable instead.

Rear Delt X’s- 10/40, 10/50, 10/60

Rope Pressaway- 20/40, 15/65, 10/90, 8/110

DB arc- 8/30, 8/35, 8/40, 8/50

Cable Kickbacks with a pronating grip- 8/30, 8/35, 8/40

BB shrugs- 15/135, 15/225, 12/315, 10/405

As you can see, i went light most of the day. but thats ok. On days i have my partner, and tendons arent bugging the fguck out of me, i wreck the weight, on the other days, i push the blood flow. Things are working quite well, and honestly ive been noticing some visual changes…but i think i commented on that a few days ago. Oh well, i wish i could put up good pics with a decent camera and some good lighting, i would look a lot different than what most of you have seen…how unfortunate…
