LOL, so you don’t care about what we say about your rants where you CARE about what others say? Hypocrisy at its finest.

I’m not big, but I’ve been berated on the same level for achievements which I had early on in life, mainly academic, but nonetheless I got stupid comments on the same level. I learned to use anger positively, then eventually learned to stop caring. One thing I certainly didn’t do was moan about it.

So do you say your piece then and there or do you go home and post it on T NATION. The point is, I saw nothing to get the fruit of looms in a bunch about. People make stupid comments every day. Someone always knows someone bigger, or stronger. Who cares?
assuming we still care, atleast a little bit…

The twit chose to take a negative approach to the OP. When he could’ve had a little admiration. OR, a third option, say nothing at all(easy and everyones happy). 2 out of the 3 choices are cool, one isn’t.

I’m not gonna lie, If I see someone who’s bigger than me (or worse yet my size, more of a competitive feeling) I have an immediate feeling of insecurity (probably natural, or im just fucked in the head) for 1-2 seconds, then I remind myself that hey, this guy does the same type of stuff I like to do he’s just been doing it for longer and is better at it then me, maybe we could be friends and he could teach me a thing or two (I’m quick to strike up conversations and ask questions).

I’d probably say my piece then go post on T-Nation. The punk displayed his low-quality personality and it’s a common trait that deserves to be discussed, so here we are. Just your run of the mill everyday jealous/insecure/one-upsmanship. The OP was maybe just a little curious as to how others deal with it.

It bugs me how much I care sometimes.
And I’m more inclined to be friendly, ask them questions and learn from them. As a result, I’ve broken through a plateau which literally held me back for 6 months.

Why are men acting like boys these days? If you can’t man up and take digs for being big and muscular, then stop fucking weight training and get small again. Simple.
But…you aren’t big.

LOL. What makes this some really funny shit…is all of the little dudes running out to tell someone WAY fucking bigger and more developed than they are to suck it up…when not one of them likely experiences anything like what the OP may get daily.

Yeah, if it happens to you once a decade, I am sure it didn’t [phase you at all.

Get back to us when you finally get fed up with the 12,000th person making the same stupid comment.

I had yet another person use the phrase, “so you workout?”. In the moment, I smile, joke around and move on. That won’t stop me from mentioning it here if it happens enough to stay on my mind at all.

…and frankly, all of you little fuckers can kiss my ass if you have a problem with it.
Dude, seriously, you’re coming off like some size queen. If you can’t handle awkward, stupid, thoughtless comments, go live in a cave or stop doing what it is you do to make yourself stand out. You’re like a guy that wears a bright red shirt everyday and complains because people comment about his bright red shirt. Either stop wearing bright red shirts or learn to live with the comments. And again, did you actually read this retarded OP? The villain is “gay”, can’t even squat his bodyweight, wife is probably getting banged by a trainer, some random reference to “intimidation”. Are you fucking serious? THIS is the post where you decide to make a stand? Or do you have a soft spot for this guy b/c he’s “big”?

Several. Your point?

Then why read this long ass thread that may just reach 2,000 views in one day to even give a response if it was so stupid?

I mean, how many issues do YOU have for that to make sense?
I read the post, and replied. We all do, some of you far more than me. Look at the posting histories of long time members, look at mine. I have to explain why I posted now? Are you seriously defending this sophomoric post b/c the guy is big and well developed? Are you seriously telling me the post isn’t utterly stupid? References to the guy being gay, can’t squat his bodyweight, lance armstrong would tell him to suck a dick or something or other, his wife is getting banged by someone - ALL B/C SOME DICKHEAD SAYS HE KNOWS SOMEONE BIGGER THAN HIM. ARE YOU SERIOUS? Dude is a grown fucking man.

What I want is for this board to quit acting like there is some weird kind of division between the “bodybuilders” on this site and “everyone else”. Any time one of these guys stands out at all, this seems to happen…and seeing how many dumbass threads pop up daily, how the fuck did this one get the nomination for dumbest thread worthy of your all bouncing presence?

This thread didn’t warrant this reaction unless there are shit load more jealous people here than they would like for people to know.

No one gives a shit about your apparent “academic superiority”…yet you blessed us with that wonderful gem for some strange reason.

Now, one could assume from that, that you wear that on your sleeve as some type of badge of honor…I mean, why else would it be at the ready on a fucking bodybuilding forum?

The truth is, every fucker on the planet is insecure about something. Every fucker alive wants to be acknowledged for something.

They ALL want to feel special.

Yet, only in the sense of a physical manifestation like bodybuilding does the mean streak come out.

It gets to you…because how you measure up is now visible for the world to see…instead of just in your head.

Yeah, quit moaning.

Nah mate, I don’t actually care about what you think of my achievements, I regularly interact with so many different people in my life that trying to base my self-esteem or sense of self-worth of one particular aspect would make me come off as a jerk. Truth is that I’m mentioning it since I can relate to what the OP feels (via a different quality of ourselves), just that we react differently.

I know what I want to be acknowledged for, and it certainly isn’t academic prowess.

To say “it gets to me” is a massive assumption, I look at people ahead of me with awe, but if they have a shit attitude, then I simply look at them objectively, people to learn from but nothing more. I don’t hold any kind of grudge against someone else simply because he did better than me - I already had my ego checked a long time ago and feel that it’s waaaay too immature to be jealous of any other human being simply because he did better than me.

I edited my original post before seeing your response, since when arguing with people riled up my own ego tends to get involved and I just try to “win” the argument - typically by calling you names like “big man” to piss you off and make them become more irrational . I apologise for that, however, I maintain the view that people like the OP breaking down into a hissy fit equivalent to what 15 year old girls do on myspace is just stupid.
WP wrote:

Now wait…where the fuck were the Assumption Police when everyone here apparently got their PhD in psychology and ruled the OP to be insecure because of this one comment???

I never called him immature.

And I call it hissy when people resort to petty insults (such as questioning someone’s sexuality) said on a forum which the person in question will most likely never read.

Hmmmmmmm… That could scare them, possibly. You know…play the part of the “crazy dick-waving guy”.

Do you have a laser attachment? That would help, i’m sure.
