I hate Squats Club

Cycle 4 week 1 BP day

5x175, 5x205, 9x230

seated cable row 5x10x130

CGBP 5x10x185 , a few face pulls just to air out the shoulders a little.

Hammer curls 2x10x30

10 min elliptical moderate.

BP rep # is same as last time…Playing with my set-up and right now its all over the map making the 1st few reps crappy but than I found a groove…Should be banging out 10 or 11 with that weight soon.

Peace[/quote]

I notice the same thing. I tend to find the groove after the second or third rep. It could be from no handoff as I lift alone. ON a side note…been following the logs of us ‘old’ folks here and I noticed something interesting…we tend not to bullshit about our lifts or the weight. Must be cuz we finally figured there ain’t no point. We would just be shitting ourselves. Hmmmmmm.

Good looking squats, OG.

I’ve been doing the front squats after back squats as well. I like the combo. Great lifting OG.

Same here. I love/hate front squats after back squats, with an occasional Zercher thrown in. How much are you offering for the squat work?

ECO, Joe, - thanks but man do I suck at squats…but that just means work harder you dumb goat.

Jack- 5 bucks a rep if you throw in ski lessons!!

Complex day

4x6x85lbs…deads, RDL’s, bent over row, cleans, front squat, millies, back squat,

20 minutes elliptical intervals…15/45…

tried some very very light zerchers for the first time…ouch my arms kill( insert wussy comments here)…pour me into my truck and send me home!

One more belt question: I looked at belts on line, it appears you either go 10mm or 13mm thick…I am assuming, given the weights I am moving that a 10mm is more than adequate…Am I thinking right?

Looking really good on the bench OG. Training is looking solid.

ruglayer- The guys who post here are awesome. Very supportive and helpful…they dont care if you lift 20 or 2000lbs… and they are legit lifters…most post vids so you know the numbers are true and there isn’t any false ego! Thanks for stopping by.

Cycle 4 week2 MP day

3,x155, 3x130, 9x145 ( same as last cycle but #10 is close at hand) but I was still pissed so I broke ranks went AWOL and put 175 on the bar for a new lifetime PR. I needed some joy.

Dips ( some moron stole the gyms dipbelt) so I did bodyweight dips: 28, 16, 12, 8, 6

Bent over rows 5x8x135

Band resisted pushups: 12, 10, 8, 8, 6

Time to swill a little protein!

Now, if I can just look busy enough I can avoid the Honey Do List and maybe catch a football game between goat naps!
Peace

Great PR, OG! The only thing that adds more strength than anger is desperation. And I am sure that there was much joy in the goat pin. Great job.

I don’t use a belt but look at Mathineer’s thread. Mcl had a good comment on belts and wraps. Great workouts you’re having.

Thanks Hel and I will check Maths thread…need to catch up with the volume master anyway. Thanks

Nice MP PR. I use a 13mm belt, I feel like a dirty little cheater.

Cycle 4 week 2 Dead Day (sumo)

3x205, 3x225, 11x255 (PR+2)

On my way to the gym, I tweaked my lower back on some black ice going down the back steps at the shack…so I was happy to get through the deads alive!

backed-off on the weights for the rest of the session

Snatch Deads 5x10x195

RDL’s 5x10x135

time to slap on some biofreeze and wash down a few advil so that I can survive the day…

Peace

Congratz on the PR. And nice job working through the tweak. Take care of the back…it’s at the core of everything

We have some freezing drizzle this morning. Doesn’t bode well for this clumsy oaf. I’ll be taking it slow.

PR’s, belts, Biofreeze and Advil… Now its getting good around here. Good lifting OG.

Thanks CTL, Strick and JW…appreciate the support.

Today was supposed to be BP day, but I pushed it off until tomorrow. Wanted to give my back an extra day after tweaking it yesterday. And to top it off, got home last night and the washing machine cold water hose sprang a leak and there was a cord and half wood in my driveway…Stack, stack, stack before todays ice and rain…

So today I did some easy Ab work and cardio. Cardio was 20 minutes bike moderate pace.

Did lots of foam rolling and mobility, stretching…probably close to half an hour to try to loosen up my lower back…feels Ok, should be good to go tomorrow…now isn’t this a nice boring post.

Peace

Good choice OldGoat. Best to wait a day and be able to keep on going!

Cycle 4 week 2 BP day

Strick-age brings a little wisdom…or in my case a little more fear of injuring myself and having to sit on the sidelines; so I definitely agree with you.

warm-up 6 minute treadmill, mobility and foam roller 15 min

3x190, 3x215, 7x240 ( was gunning for 8 so not great but not upsetting )

neutral Grip chins (bodyweight) 7,6,5,5,5,4

alternated with

CGBP 5x10x175

10 minutes bike

weighed in this AM at a massive, jaw dropping, earth shaking…177lbs!

Peace

Good work, OG. I have decided that since we are about the same size I should be benching what you do so I’m using your numbers for a little competitive inspiration, on squats too.

Age and experience always trumps youth and exuberance. Plus the older you are, the dirtier you can fight. Nice training OG
