Think I’ll go barf for you. Hope you don’t have any stairs at work.
Strong work OG. Looks like this program will either kill you or make you a stud. I’ve started squatting every weight lifting workout trying to learn to not hate squats so much.

Thanks ECO, I tend believe its the former and not the latter!!..Let me know how your squat trials go, but I will always be a squat hater.
I probably haven’t mentioned this before but I hate squats; more achy than sore from yesterday…had a little leg thing going on last night that woke me up…I think its just the nerves adjusting to the work…today is supposed to be a full REST day …I explained that to my wife and told her unfortunately I would not be able to clean the pool or mow the lawn because it may stunt my growth…than I got THE LOOK…you know the one that says just try it and your next invite to the “big bed” will be when Mars collides with earth!!!..heading out to clean the pool now…
Hi. Pleased to meet you. New to this section. If you don’t mind my ignorance, what are bat wings? Nice try with the wife. Nice try.
DJ- Bat wings are another crazy Dan John exercise. You lay face down on a flat bench with a pair of dumbells…you basically row them up ( only about 6 inches of movement) with your thumbs lining up with your armpit by squeezing your scapula…so at the top, looking from the side your arms resemble bat wings sort of according to Dan its a great Rhomboid strengthener…and I must say after a set of 10 with 5 second holds my back is flush…if you google Dan John bat wings there is a better explanation and vid.
Thanks for dropping by…
Liking the complex…I have to get going on those again…
That is some crazy volume. I think I’d give that pool some quality time after cleaning.
Matty- Complexes are a great conditioning tool…I hate them!
OP- the pool received much love yesterday! great to have you around again
Today is supposed to be a “refresh” day so 10-20 minutes of light movements
I did snatch grip rack pulls up to 335 ( from the knee) with straps after 275.
Conv Rack pulls also from the knee up 445…
Tomorrow its back into high rep squats…I don’t think I ever mentioned this but I hate squats!
Peace
Day 3 Dan John is not my friend program
The program called for additional BP and One arm presses today, so instead of 2 sets it was 3.
Incline BP
2,3,5x3x185 I got all the reps so I think next session I am supposed to add weight, I haven’t looked at Day 4 because I am afraid.
Bat wings
10x5sec holdx25lb dbs
One arm Press
2,3,5x3x55 same here I got all the reps so I think I add weight now
Bird dogs 10 side
Complex
3x5x85lbs 2 less complexes today, I am not complaining I am thankful
GEE, I wonder what comes next???
Squats
1x30x95, 1x31x115 yes I threw in an extra rep, the Iron may eventually beat me doing this program, but today was not the day!! ALthough, I am having 2nd thoughts about having to go upstairs to shower…
3 sessions down 11 to go
Off to the salt mine, Peace
A 31 rep set on squats? Are you on meth?
[quote]JoeGood wrote:

I think its going to take something stronger than meth to gt through this…Thursday its 3sets 25 reps at 115…granted the weight is very light but it is an eternity under the bar…I actually laid down for 15 minutes on the couch while my dogs were outside playing…
OG, that is just crazy! I get tired doing 25 body weight squats!
You are more of a man the me. Press…uh…squat…on, young fella. Great, great work.

I definitely laughed out loud on that one. funny.

LOL!
OG, I’ve heard of facing your fears, but I’d say you’re going just a leeetle, eeeensy, tiny bit overboard!

Who you calling young? (hahaha)… Thanks Big Man
Brett- I finally looked at Day 4 which is tomorrow …now I am definitely afraid…
Punny- yeah, no one has ever accused me of being smart!! Thanks for dropping by.
Refresh day warmup blah blah blah
speed deads 10x1x225
Goblet squats 2x8x40
chins 15
Bike 20 minutes moderate
tomorrow 3x25x115 squats…I should be more open with everyone…I hate squats…

Day 4 Dan John is definitely not my friend program
incline BP 2x2,3,5x195 today called for an additional set of up to 10 on last weeks weight (185) I got 9 reps maybe could have 10 but without a spotter not worth it. So I was pleased with that, but really wasnt feeling great, energy was low and just off…
Bat wings 25lbs 5x10sechold
One arm Press 60lbs- this up 5 lbs from last session
Left arm 2,3,5 and 2,3,4 short 1 rep… took a 10 sec break and banged out the rep caused I was pissed that I missed…
Right arm 2,3,5, and 2,3,5 no problem
Bird dogs 10/side with 3 sec hold
Complex row, clean, front, mp, back gm 85lbs 3x5
Than it was time for the showdown with my arch nemesis…
3x25x115 Squats…I hate squats does not properly express the sentiment in my heart at the moment…I hope Dan John’s next program features hot pokers in the eye for 30 reps…that would be more pleasant…had to take 4 minutes between the 2nd and 3rd set…just gassed.
4 down 10 to go! My Dad ( 87yrs old) is coming for a visit for the next few days which will be nice…He drove from SC to Montreal to see my sister and is heading back for a 4 day stop at my shack…lots of sitting and napping in my near future…but it will be awesome to spend the time with him, he is such a good man.
off to the salt mine, Peace
