Hung over benching at 4:30… I’m brave but not that brave!! Enjoy your weekend OG.

Working out hung over is impressive enough but at 4:30 am. I have a new hero. You deserve the weekend off.

So I leave work early yesterday to stop and look at a box truck for the company. I get a text from a friend saying he will be at the Alumni Cafe ( great little pub where the bartender is excellent) about 4;30 for a beer so I go and meet him, shot the breeze, pound a couple of quick beers and am home by 5:30,perfect…walk around back of the house and there they are…

My crazy sister in law, her daughter ( who is actually very sweet), and two of my nephews…my wife is inside cooking a roast and what I thought were going to be baked potato, broccoli and some italian bread etc…I like my roast rare just for the record…the pool crashers eventually leave around 7 so we sit down as a family which was awesome because of schedules we just don’t do that enough…the meat is medium well ( Mrs Goat forgot about it while she was talking to her sister)…strike one…

she did delmonico potatos insteaad of baked …we’ll give her a pass on that one…There is no bread…strike two…the broccoli is still sitting on the counter in the bag…strike three…I was honestly getting a little mad…then it hit me…I’m about to ruin one of few family moments over this? and I am going to mad because dinner wasn’t what I had expected?..Life’s lesson for the goat…be thankful and appreciative for all that I have… so it ended up being a delightful time…

my kids actually engaged in conversation…we talked about mutual funds, yes they wanted to know about mutual funds ( go figure), we talked about my son’s ankle operation coming up on Monday, we talked about boys ( my daughters favorite)BOO, we talked about my son’s squat workout earlier in the day ( he goes to a trainer who does S/C work at a local college for the lacrosse and football teams so that he learns the lifts correctly; not like his old man)…

there were no computers, no TV on, no cell phone texting, just us and it was awesome and I am thankful! It was the best dinner!

After dinner I went poolside and proceded to dig deep into a 12 pack with my two buddies sleeping by my feet…
4:30 came very early today…

That post warmed the cockles of my heart. Glad you had a great night. You were right not to “sweat the small stuff”. When all is said and done, that sort of stuff doesn’t matter.

Cav- Yeah, my daughter models and has some dough so I put some in a fund to show her how things work so we review her statement every month. But I was shocked that my son had interest.

Well I lied, I didn’t stay out the gym this weekend but I have a legit reason…my wrist straps from Elite came yesterday so I wanted to go try them on snatch grip rack pulls. Every Time I get to 275 on the 2nd or 3rd rep my right hand fails…today I worked up 315x5 before my left gave out I didnt strap that one because I wanted to see how much my right was holding me back…mission accomplished. more in the near future!

after that I did Conv rack pulls from 2inch below the knee

No session today. My son had ankle surgery this Am at 7 and its an hour away and we needed to be there an hour before. So no time for gym…got home around 10:30 he is in some minor discomfort but he has meds to keep it in check…Doc said surgery went well but that there was a bit more damage around the entire joint than he originally suspected.

They stapled the ligaments to his bone, cleaned up cartilage, a free floating bone chip and spur…lots of tissue smoothing…They cleaned up everything they could so we will see how he heals… Cant believe he actually played 24 games on that foot and led the team in scoring…well now its mend for awhile and than some aggressive PT to get ready in time for spring ball…

So I am off the next couple of days to keep my boy company and make sure he remains positive…Hitting the gym tomorrow though…Ill catch up on everyone’s log soon.
