I hate Squats Club

Like the new avatar. Training is looking solid. Hope your son has a good tournament.

Thanks Joe and ECO…ECO I’ll let you know on the tourney…His future college coach will be there watching him ( and others) all day. He confessed he is a little nervous about that. But if he just settles into his game he will be fine…

Great work in here, OG!

Lotta work there, OG. Fortunately, you did enough for me too.

Good times for your son. These are magical times. I remember being recruited, signing and my first year there. It was all kind of surreal.

Thanks guys…well the tournament went well. The team my son played on went 3-0 and he scored some goals and had boatload of assists. The fields were slick and it was windy and chilly! His future coach watched a half of all 3 games and let my son know he was happy with his performance…stress levels are dropping!!

I finally got the next cycle started this AM.

You probably say somewhere in here what percentages you use for your 6/4/2, but I don’t have the patience to look it up. So what percentages are you using?

Carl- I took the 5/3/1 percentages and dropped them another 7-10% when I started. Now my weights are back up to where I was at with 5/3/1. And I am hoping to head further north soon…

6/4/2 MP day
6x110, 6x125, 10x140 (rep PR) I was pleased with this. Having squatted yesterday I was low on energy but I needed to do a back to back because my weekend schedule is going to be f’d up so this should keep to my 3 a week lifts.

Wide grip pull-ups
7,5,5,4,4,4,4,3

Cable side laterals ( doing some proactive rehab as my shoulders have been a bit tender esecially after squats) went nice a slow with super light weight
3x10x15lbs

OH Squats
3x10x65
supersetted with
Reverse Curls
3x10x65

Took my dogs out in the woods where there is a tree farm and ofcourse the only time I dont have my bow I see a nice buck coming out of the edge of the trees…life is so cruel…dogs got a whiff and the chase was on!

Peace

Great training OG. How many deer do you usually get a year? Tons of them around my place.

try and take 1 buck and 1 doe. I dont get out enough to do more…and last year I got zippo!! heading out this Sat Am around 4 with two friends…unfortunately for me its my turn to push. Hopefully we get something…

My cousin’s husband is on a 15 day Elk hunt in Eastern Oregon. The guide packs them in on horses, and brings them water every 4 days or so and checks on them. No cell service, no roads, no medevac if something happens. They brought a defibulator just in case. I wish I could have gone.

Hunting! That’ll up your T! Wish I had someplace to hunt around here. Only 1 week of rifle season, though. I miss GA. Rifle season lasts forever.

Jack, I hope they don’t get drunk and decide to start playing with the defib.

Strick, I think that is a very legitimate concern.

Hope you bag a big one this weekend OG.(a deer not a chubby girl)

Thanks Steve…me too!! Shot for about 1/2 hour last night in low light and the checked my equipment so I am good to go.

Hang Cleans- first time I have tried these so its a big learning curve for an old(dumb) goat!

Did lots of sets of 6-10reps with 95lbs…wasn’t keeping track, just trying to start to learn the movement. Worked on it for about 20 minutes and was getting tired so I moved on.

Problem: bar speed is way too slow ( no power) and my catch is too rigid.
Solution: Do more of this.

Whip Snatch
3x10x85

Rev, BB Lunges
3x8sidex125

Power Curls
3x8x115

Have a great weekend all,

Peace

No deer … 1 shot by my friend he said he missed high over the shoulder…( practice more you dope)!! Go out again next Sat and possibly Sunday. Good stuff…great reason to get up early and freeze your arse off in the dark!!

CGBP
6x160, 6x185, 11x210

3x3x225, 2x2x235 a little extra volume because I had the time.

Chest supported row
3x8x105 2x5x70 with 3sec hold ( tired me right out)

neutral grip chins
5x5 throughout the session

Incline DB press (neutral)
3x10x50 just gettin’ some reps in will add lbs next week.

Great looking CGB, OG. 5 extra sets at weights above your money set is a little extra volume? lol Good stuff.

Wait…you hunt deer in Mass.? First I find out that there are actually woods there. And now that you have and can hunt deer!? I didn’t think you guys could even own so much as a pointy stick. Your shattering all of my delusions.

I see this whip snatch, but dont know what it is, how does it work?

Strick- You are right we are not allowed to own pointy objects in taxachusetts. So we just throw rocks…it does make hunting more of a challenege!

UN- hope all is well with you thanks for dropping by. Whip snatch you simply hold the bar at mid thigh with a snatch grip , give a little pop with your knees and whip the bar up overhead. If you go to JWillys thread he did a vid of it not too long ago.

5 minutes bike
20 minutes foam, mobility, stretch

Squat Day ( tap and go 12 inch box)
4x150, 4x170, 9x190 ( rep pr +1) should have had 1 more rep but I lost focus and hip kicked out so I decided no mas.

Partials ( about 14 inches range)
275x5, 295x5, 315x6, 335x4 man if it wasn’t 5:30 in AM I might actually be able to do these with some energy!

225x10

RDL
4x10x135 with a shrug in between each rdl rep/

pull throughs
3x12x110

all in all a good day for an old goat with chicken legs…

Peace

I can’t imaagine heavy squating at 5:30 AM. Great work OG. Nice PR.
