How tough is it zercher walking with the slosh pipe? Do you really feel the arms/abs/lats…
ECO- its a trip!!! I feel it for sure…abs especially…but even your traps, every muscle gets called into play because of the constant motion of the water…try it, if you don’t like the punishment I will come and coach your son in lacrosse for an hour.

Nice work, OG. The core work will really payoff.
I just have no stomach for it…get it? core…stomach. Oh nevermind.
What qualifies as great weather? Here, it is about 60 in the morning and 80 in the afternoon. Pretty nice. Though, 75 would be better.
Strick- 75 clear blue sky, big orange ball in the sky…slight ocean breeze…good living for this time of year around here. We are only allocated 10 of these a year so 9 more to come!!
Days like that are meant to spent on a bike going no place in paticular.

That does sound like a great day.
The ocean breeze… I didn’t grow up near the beach. But, in GA, I was close enough that we went often. And, actually, our HS football camp was on Jekyll Island. So I am familiar with what ocean breezes feel like.
Here in OK, in the Spring, even though we are about as land locked as you can get, the morning breezes (the wind always blows around here) feel like those at the beach. It took me a couple of year to quit thinking the beach was just over the horizon. And to add to it, we have seagulls! Couple those two, and water has to be somewhere around here.
Poor birds…they are really lost.
Week 1 Day 3 CGBP
5x165
5x190
8x215 (better than I expected considering the layoff)
DB Rows
2x15x75 1x8x90 ( I know I am going to pay for this)
Dips
2x10x45lbs 1x8x45lbs
FacePulls
2x12x100
Good Day all things considered.
UN- Amen to that…hoping to get out on Saturday early before all the Moms in their Suburbans and cell phones hit the streets!
Strick- Seagulls…that’s what .22s are for!!
Peace
Nice work, OG. 215x8 is strong CGBing. Looks like the return to form is progressing pretty darned quickly.
The local authorities don’t take too kindly to discharging firearms in the city limits. Yes, even in Oklahoma
Nice work, OG, its good to see you back in the groove.
Great training OG. Have you switched to cgb only or is it just for this cycle?
Thanks Strick, Jack and ECO…I think by week 3 I should be back to “normal”!
Strick- then I will lend you my bow…much quieter!
ECO- Im going CGB until I hit 300. I figure by doing that it will give me a great shot at 335-350 flat benching. If I can do that at less than 180lbs BW I would be thrilled…Long, long way to go! My max CGB before my layoff was 265.

We will be thrilled for you. Admirable goal. Habanero peppers are great to feed to gulls.
Thanks Rug!
Week 1 Day 4 Deads
And oh man was I. Had the energy level of a sloth…I guess I may jumped in a little to hard this week, but it it what it is…
Snatch Grip Deads
5x170
5x195
5x225 ( could only manage the min reps, I am not concerned as I think it was more just drain than actually too much weight, as I have done more than that many times.
SLRDL
3x10x25lb DBs side I looked like one of the pink flamingos you see on someones lawn…glad no gym bunnies were watching!
Pullthroughs
2x10x160, 1x8x190 I swear these would be so much more enjoyable if Marissa Miller were doing them.
No mas! Uncle, I give…went home, took the pups out and played in the backyard for 1/2 hour…I hope I have an easy day at work…
Peace
Nice work, OG. And I like the bench goals. Let me see…you will be benching 350 at 180# and I will (hopefully) @ 280#. Hmmmm… Something just doesn’t seem right about that.
Strick- You are banging on the door already and I am still not on the outskirts of town as those numbers are way off in the distance for me!! But I needed something to aim at!!
Good looking SG deads, and I’m with Strick you’ll hit 350 before too long.
Nice looking snatch grip deads, have you tried using the bar for the single legs, might give you a bit better balance.
UN- No I haven’t tried that. I will this week. Thanks
Joe- Thanks, I hope you are right!
Sunday was a crazy day at the Goat Pen…dog training, yard work, repair a brick walkway ( I am no mason that’s for sure), and coach 5 and 6 year olds for an 75 minutes in lacrosse. But 6am slosh Pipe wars were great.
4x75 yrds Zercher Carries, 2x50 yrds overhead carries, Overhead hold for 1 minute…
Today
Week 2 Day 1 DB Inclines (neutral grip)
3x60
3x70
6x80
Neutral Chins
25lbs, 5,5,4,4,3,2
Supinated Pulldowns
3x10x130
BW: 175…been suffering from spring allergies and the meds kind of knock down what little appetite I normally have, so the 2lbs I lost will return quickly.
Peace
Okay. I don’t want to weigh 175#, but to get within 75# of it would be nice.
Those zercher carries look rough. But the overhead stuff must really pound the core, in every direction.
Nice DB inclines and chins as well.
I’m with Strick, the Zercher carries looked fierce.
Strick, what can I say I am the runt of the litter!
Joe and Strick- Slosh Pipe Zerchers and overhead carries are brutal! but being outside when the world is still quiet…priceless.
Week 2 Day 2 Zercher Squats - oh brother, my core was complaining from the slosh pipe work on Sunday. I didn’t have much Umpfff…
3x140
3x160
5x180 Umpffless
rev Lunge from 4 inch step
3x840lbs side
Zercher BBB
4x10x110 negative umpff!
I am contemplating starting some sprint training for cardio. the weather is good so maybe I will skip the gym tomorrow and head to the HS and do some sprints on the turf. drag my Slosh pipe along for some post sprint torture…to start I am thinking 6x25, 4x50 2x75…and see if I survive…yeah that settles it…To the fields!!
Peace
May be, but you don’t lift like a runt.
Nice work.
