I Finally Stopped Getting Out of the Way

How can anyone with pom poms and cheerleader dresses have issues.
That s ridiculous.

However, what matty did was justified.
He wasn t nice but he was righteous. Kind of like Batman.

OR LIKE WILLIAM FOSTER

or like this lovely fella

It doesn t matter as long as it s justified you act without guilt.

So…I am usually the type of person to give strangers their space and the respect I would like. Espescially when going to work. I work in downtown manhattan which is a real rat race, usually on my way to my mind numbing job, I dodge umbrellas, speeding women, strollers, cell phone talkers…and you get the point.

It seems like I am always walking sideways. Im not the smallest guy in the world so I dont want to plow into someone, I dont want to be an asshole, yet somehow I always seem to be making the first move to get out of the way.

Yesterday, was a tremendously shitty day in NYC rainy and windy, umbrellas were jacking me, and as usual here I am trying to be courteuous, this one middle - aged corporate type guy, as I was trying to get out of the way FUCKING plowed into me, actually caught me off guard, and as usual he sped away. I stopped, thought about confronting him and thought better of it, cuz Im not 20 Im 34. But I did tell myself if I saw him again I was gonna hip check him like I was Darius Kasparitus!

I got my wish…Chambers street and Broadway, perfect timing. He was looking down seemingly unaware of what was coming, his brooks brothers suit was staring at me and coming closer, I sped up like Chris Johnson hitting a hole…BAMMMMMM I FUCKING FLOORED HIM! ASS FIRST! LOOKED DOWN AND SAID THATS FOR YESTERDAY, SHOW SOME RESPECT! (he didnt say a word)…IT FELT GOOD TO TAKE THE LOW ROAD FOR ONCE!

Now I will go back to avoiding people and being the courteous person that I have become, but it felt good to give some fucktard what he had coming.

Great work!

Think about your efforts within the context of our society. If nobody steps up and knocks a cocksucker down a couple notches. Who’s he gonna knock down next, somebodies, wife, kid grandmother?

I am suprised anybody would run into you tho. Your arms look like theyre 20" lol!

You would be surprised how often it happens, football games I get it the worst, Buffalo and Cincy were tuff sundays, it could of been because I was wearing a Jet Jersey lol

Bodyguard ???¢?? I certainly understand what you???¢??re saying, and to a certain extent I agree however, this man was not visibly disabled in any way, was not elderly, was not a child or a woman. 99% of the time I turn the other cheek, I was not preying on the weak, I was simply defending my honor (maybe a little bit overboard here), there was no way of me knowing that he wouldn???¢??t of gotten up and engaged me in a brawl, it could of happened, its possible that he may of beat the shit out of me. I took that chance, because I had it with this kind of lack of decency, it???¢??s why I loathe Manhattan.
Well, you indict yourself by admitting you were a little overboard. Must we dissect this further? I’ve worked in Manhattan too, work CC Philly now. Same shit. He was “weak” because he was a suit and he was smaller than you. Speculating on his hidden MMA skills is a fool’s errand. You knew what you were doing. I’m not saying you’re an asshole by the way, I’m saying you were an asshole for that moment.
The little overboard comment was directed at my comment saying “defending my honor.” oh and I had a shirt and tie on myself. While I admitted taking the low road, for a person who usually never does I found it refreshing to be a “asshole” for the moment. It seems as if your giving the “suit” a pass for what he did to me, why is that? Im done dissecting.
Matty, you indicted yourself again. You admit you took the low road. Are you done confession now? Asshole could have been the typical self absorbed NYC asshole or he could have been distracted. New Yorkers are some rude assholes for sure, but the average suit does not normally go aiming for a guy built like you  Are you sure your interpretation of the original incident is accurate? I’m not giving him a pass, but he’s not here starting a thread either  You are. You admit you were an asshole for a moment. Far be it for me to deny a man his asshole moment. I’ve enjoyed more than my fair share of my own. The only apparent different is that I’ve regretted my asshole moments.

Bodyguard, Im not trying to get in a pissing match here, but the man was a good 3 inches taller than me, was he bigger than me, no, but Im only 5’9". I also know all about continum of force and all that stuff, and while what I did was not an immediate reaction, I felt like it totally deserved a response. As far as everyone else agreeing with me, they are empathizing with me because they have been through the same situation.

Also, Im not a bully, and didnt target this guy because he was potentially weaker than me, he targeted me first. I have often times, been on the other side of a situation when I was the smaller guy, and assumed to be weaker. I know your not calling me an asshole, I have read many posts by you and they are usually intelligent or humorous, though I do feel in this instance you are adding variables in the situation that are just not true.

I guess I wasnt done dissecting.
We’re not in a pissing match and for the record, you appear to me to be a great guy. If I added variables that did not exist, forgive my transgression  Carry on  Bu

Was it just me or was anyone else hoping he’d end this video with “I’m just a normal guy” too?

Man bumps into you the day prior. You say nothing.

The next day, you blind side him and knock him to the ground.

Righteous?

And consider this; had the man intentionally did what he did the day prior, he most likely would have risen and had his say with Matty. My guess? He was just another self absorbed Wall Street asshole in a suit. Hardly a capital crime within the Capital of Asshole Suits.
Hmm, man b u

FOR THE RECORD; FALLING DOWN WAS A GREAT FUCKING MOVIE.

FALLING DOWN DESERVES ITS OWN THREAD.
MattyXL wrote:

This is one of my favorite movies ever. I even went out and bought a pair of glasses just like his, although I don’t really look good in them. I would often fantasize about doing something similar like this, but then reality smacks me in the face.
TheBodyGuard wrote:

I concur fully.

D - FENS!
MattyXL wrote:

I can’t tell you how many times I was stuck in city traffic and just felt like getting out of my fucking car and leaving it there. I cracked the fuck up the first time I saw that scene. I UNDERSTOOD HIS PAIN.

So Matty was an asshole for two seconds. Feels good to show your dark side now and then.
For the record, I think it’s acceptable to be an asshole to an asshat.

And the toilet seat thing has never made sense to me. Want someone to NOT piss on it? Leave it up! When I was single, I left it up for that very reason; because my fucktard friends had bad aim (I blame it on sight-radius length) EDIT: and a metric fuck-ton of alcohol

Bodyguard - Everybody can take something from this movie, I always found it awesome that the movies hero was also in a way its villain…a underrated classic.

Jay - Thanks! I never understood the toilet down either, I knew my aim was fucked, sometimes my stream would go in to different directions, so I always thought I was being pro-active in leaving it up!

Same here…I was 210 for about 6 months this fall/winter and people practically ran from me…guess that’s the difference from being in Odenton/DC vs NY neighbor!
