I Finally Stopped Getting Out of the Way

im about 6 feet tall and 275, so im a big boy. i generally try to stay outta peoples way outta courtesy because im so wide i feel like i take up more space then they would anticipate, but i was in NYC this past weekend, and this group of hipster kids was walking 3 wide on the sidewalk with no intention of giving me any room as they walked by, so that hipster kid got a facefull of shoulder. people have no respect and think everyone is going to move for them, especially eliteist hipsters apparently. See this yoke? it means not welcome.

Celtics judging from your posts espescially when you call out young kids and demand to see naked pictures og big black men I’m not the only one who needs to grow up…and for the record I don’t think the guy accidentally bumped into me I think he told himself he is too important to respect anyone…that’s how I took it and would do it again it felt good damn good.
You dont need to defend yourself to this clown.

Im from NYC. Anyone who hasnt been to NYC, especially the area youre talking about, cant say shit.

If its not a clueless suit its a mom with a triple wide baby carriage on her cell phone looking into the clouds or a small asian woman with two 10 gallon garbage bags full of plastic bottles attached to a pole strapped over her shoulder pushing a shopping cart full of more bottles or kids on skateboards. It a never ending obstacle course. Just go all Juggernaut on them next time
Im gonna try and take some pics today to give people an idea of how ridiculous it can get
Like the video game “Paperboy” without the fucking bike.

You need to grow the fuck up.

You just committed assault by the way.
If you want to get technical, it’s battery.

When I have a group of people walking abreast coming toward me, I casually tuck my hair behind my ear so they have the choice of narrowing their group or looking like douches running into a girl’s elbow.
Since when is PMPM a girl? Shit, where’ve I been?! LOL

Well, you indict yourself by admitting you were a little overboard. Must we dissect this further? I’ve worked in Manhattan too, work CC Philly now. Same shit. He was “weak” because he was a suit and he was smaller than you. Speculating on his hidden MMA skills is a fool’s errand. You knew what you were doing. I’m not saying you’re an asshole by the way, I’m saying you were an asshole for that moment.

So…I am usually the type of person to give strangers their space and the respect I would like. Espescially when going to work. I work in downtown manhattan which is a real rat race, usually on my way to my mind numbing job, I dodge umbrellas, speeding women, strollers, cell phone talkers…and you get the point.

It seems like I am always walking sideways. Im not the smallest guy in the world so I dont want to plow into someone, I dont want to be an asshole, yet somehow I always seem to be making the first move to get out of the way.

Yesterday, was a tremendously shitty day in NYC rainy and windy, umbrellas were jacking me, and as usual here I am trying to be courteuous, this one middle - aged corporate type guy, as I was trying to get out of the way FUCKING plowed into me, actually caught me off guard, and as usual he sped away. I stopped, thought about confronting him and thought better of it, cuz Im not 20 Im 34. But I did tell myself if I saw him again I was gonna hip check him like I was Darius Kasparitus!

I got my wish…Chambers street and Broadway, perfect timing. He was looking down seemingly unaware of what was coming, his brooks brothers suit was staring at me and coming closer, I sped up like Chris Johnson hitting a hole…BAMMMMMM I FUCKING FLOORED HIM! ASS FIRST! LOOKED DOWN AND SAID THATS FOR YESTERDAY, SHOW SOME RESPECT! (he didnt say a word)…IT FELT GOOD TO TAKE THE LOW ROAD FOR ONCE!

Now I will go back to avoiding people and being the courteous person that I have become, but it felt good to give some fucktard what he had coming.

MXL
Satisfying I’m sure, but not cool. There is no honor in attacking the weak. I’m the same way, I’ll move first and I’m annoyed almost to the point of violence when people can’t return common decency in kind. But the moment you succumb to that, you’re no better than the asshole you’ve just floored. Your thread should be titled, “I was an asshole today, and it felt good”. Carry on :)
So according to you we should all let the weak walk around doing whatever the hell they want?
No, but our response should be measured, and just. The appropriate action, if it bothered him so much, was to speak up during the first incident. The inappropriate response was a kamikazi sneak attack on a smaller man when he wasn’t looking. And make no mistake - you purposefully knock someone to the ground, you have attacked them. I don’t really think this requires analysis and it’s not a reasonable response by any measure.

If we do that, the “Progressives” win…and that ain’t happening.

I’m with you Matty. I would’ve done the same thing. I used to move out of the way in the past but not anymore…not unless it’s someone handicapable or elderly.
You’d have done the same thing if he was smaller than you only. Let’s not go getting all excited here and make stains in our underwear just yet.

The guy the OP got wasn’t weak in the sense you’re using it. Was he weak when confronted by Matty? Yes. Was he weak for intentionally smashing into people that wouldn’t expect that behaviour? No. Pussy yes (and actually ‘weak’), but Matty gave him back what he’d given him the day before…
Uh, right. Matty blindsided a smaller guy that wasn’t looking. Dude was rude, no doubt. But seriously?

I see a lot of passive aggressive “men” here. Must be the plastics in the environment. Matty knows damn right well at that moment he was an asshole and should have called the guy on his rudeness right then and there or, ignored it forever. Those of you with your pom poms and cheerleader outfits have issues.

The little overboard comment was directed at my comment saying “defending my honor.” oh and I had a shirt and tie on myself. While I admitted taking the low road, for a person who usually never does I found it refreshing to be a “asshole” for the moment. It seems as if your giving the “suit” a pass for what he did to me, why is that? Im done dissecting.

Just saw the videos, I must say I feel honored to have been immortalized by being mentioned in one of them. Celtics, you’re my new favorite poster. I don’t know how you did it, you basically Forrest Gumped your way into my heart.

Celtics for prez!

Worst to First.

He’s not a troll, but not not a troll. I’m bamboozled.

Bodyguard, Im not trying to get in a pissing match here, but the man was a good 3 inches taller than me, was he bigger than me, no, but Im only 5’9". I also know all about continum of force and all that stuff, and while what I did was not an immediate reaction, I felt like it totally deserved a response. As far as everyone else agreeing with me, they are empathizing with me because they have been through the same situation.

Also, Im not a bully, and didnt target this guy because he was potentially weaker than me, he targeted me first. I have often times, been on the other side of a situation when I was the smaller guy, and assumed to be weaker. I know your not calling me an asshole, I have read many posts by you and they are usually intelligent or humorous, though I do feel in this instance you are adding variables in the situation that are just not true.

I guess I wasnt done dissecting.

good job, should of given him a nice hard kick in the teeth for good measure Maybe if everyone gave asswipes like that a good shove there would be less of them.

A friend was telling me the other day that in some polynesian culteres if you are smaller than those walking towards you, YOU HAVE to get out of the way or it is a sign of gross disrespect. They equate size with wealth and prosperity so you always respect your larger neighbours.

I like it.
