thanks chicas. it was a magnificent trip. we had the most gracious hosts and they really showed us an amazing time. we’re mucho blessed.


so first day hitting the weights in 3 weeks.

i haven’t done any serious deadlifting in about 6-7 weeks.

stuck to the compounds and kept the weight fairly light and the volume fairly low. doms are gonna suck but i don’t milk tomorrow night so it’ll be the perfect day to hobble.

workout:

front squat: 95 x 8, 8, 8
bench press: 75 x 8; 95 x 5; 105 x 5
dead lift: 155 x 5; 185 x 5; 230 x 5
pullups: bw x 4, 3, 3

i’m back to tracking my nutrition but not really gonna have any kind of “rules” this week. simply logging it makes me make a lot better choices and have to be more accountable about what i’m eating.

the last three weeks have been an utter carb fest. croissants, often chocolate ones, with a huge glass of juice were the typical vacation breakfast.

i haven’t had a protein shake in three weeks.

or fish oil. or vitamin/zinc.

but i’m back to it all and looking forward to hitting the leanest point of mah adult life.

i’m hoping i won’t have to take the calories too low the next month since i’ve been eating SO MUCH lately and gotten so much rest. hopefully my metabolism is revved pretty high and just cleaning things up, getting more protein, and hitting the weights will be enough to get me leaning out quick.

my belly bulge is 32.5" today… so up .5" from before vacation. back to where i was at the beginning of march.

really that’s less damage than i thought. much less. can’t complain.

I’m sure you’ll get great results from your plan - it’ll be such a drastic change for your body, you’re bound to see improvements fast!

Yay for chocolate croissants! That shit is delicious. Whatever purgatory you have to go through to atone for having eaten so well, is worth it in my book.

I found the same thing: the very act of tracking nutrition made my food choices very tight.

I gained 10 lbs when I visited Paris in 2007 and we were only there a week! Cafe croissant, plenty of baguettes, wine for lunch and supper, cheese all day, macaroons just because. It was fabulous and no regrets.

Anybody who goes there should reserve at L’Ami Jean - a whole eating experience in itself. I would have bathed in their lobster bisque… enough dreaming of food. I need to get my ass into bed.

story of my life = 70 hour work weeks fueled by ice cream and beer (when i remember to eat)

haven’t trained much. but have got in a few pull workouts and some light squats.

things should be slowing down a bit next month so hopefully i’ll get back in the game.

right now the goal is to hit the weights twice a week until then.
