I Do What I Want 2010

so i have exactly 4 weeks until the first day of spring and the hopeful goal of flat abs.

after eating everything in sight for the past six weeks (wink wink) it’s time to buckle down! (i figure if i can convince myself i’m just starting the cut it’ll be even easier, haha)

not gonna stick with the 5/3/1 template… gonna be doing lots of different stuff.

i’ll be back at 531 when we get home from europe tho.

nutrition is going to be very similar to what i’ve been up to.

3 days low carb/low cal (carbs under 20%, cals under 1550) followed by 1 day high carb/high cal (carbs over 200 g, cals over 2300). rinse, repeat.

i’ll use a medium carb/medium cal day probably once every 10-12 days based on energy levels and how i’m feeling.

some other rules:

  • must log nutrition daily, two free days where i don’t have to log
  • alcohol 1 or less days a week
  • 90% clean food choices
  • veggies daily, fruit on all carb days
  • lots and lots and lots of beef
  • focus on pre/peri/post workout nutrition
  • at least 2 hours a week sun time
  • supps: xtend, glutamine, pp, vit d, multi, zma, fish oil, thc

well, you know what i mean. you inspired me in the first place to get serious about the nutrition NOW rather than a lil later. and aside from the fact that i had to break away from 5/3/1 as well.

i’m going to try to hit that 1500-1600 range this week too. tears welling in T’s eyes but i’ll put a third day of higher as well, or when i’m feeling the need.

and i’m right with you on the sauce. the booze that is. 1 day or none for me too. i will have a glass of wine today with my carb up meal.

So you’re still planning on doing low carb/low cal on lifting days? Just curious, might have work from your template here, sounds good. Also have an issue with the sauce, which makes the slope slippery for champion eating. I think I just need some freaking will power.

ps. I see I’m getting the bad reputation of being nice around here - I may have to do something really mean to negate this slams fist on table, then quickly apologizes to startled cat

haha… very true. although i’ve only seen this one spit once…and that was when they were trying to shave him. if he spit at me i swear i’d probably jump on his back and try to ride him.


today’s workout:

(all grouped exercises done as supersets with no rest btwn exercises, 90 sec rests between supersets)

strict bb mil press: 85 x 5, 5, 5
bb step ups to 14" box: 105 x 8L/8R, 8L/8R, 8L/8R

pull ups: bw x 5, 5, 5
bb reverse lunges: 85 x 8L/8R, 8L/8R, 8L/8R

hanging knee raises: bw x 12, 12, 12
db hammer curls: 20’s x 12 (per arm), 12, 12

short and sweet. this kinda kicked my ass.

my sister in law called to see if i could watch the kids so i needed something i could get done in under 40 min.

time for carbs!!

am fasted: 30 lb backpack x 25 min walk

workout:

bench press: 65 x 20, 75 x 15, 85 x 12, 95 x 10, 105 x 8; 70 x 16
3 pullups between each of the above sets
26" “bed” box jumps: bw x 10, 10, 10, 10, 10
2.5 hour intense milking in rain

yesterday was some circuit style cardio.

today:

am fasted: 30 lb backpack x 30 min walk

workout:

bb front squat: 70 x 5; 90 x 5; 110 x 5
bb step ups to 14.5" box: 110 x 10, 10, 10 (total, not per leg)
w8ed pullups: +15 x 4; +25 x 2; +15 x 3
reverse bb lunges: 100 x 8; 85 x 16 (total, not per leg)
strict db rows: 40 x 16L/16R
wide grip inverted rows: bw x 15, 15, 15
2 mile walk

i tried to get video of the pullups but on the first set the camera tipped up and only got my hands and mah head peeking up.

here are the second couple sets.


diet has been absolutely perfect. nailing the shit out of it.

you know when deja does cardio she’s fuckin serious. haha

oh and i shot some vid of a few of the baby goats this morning for those of you that were hounding for pics.
