I Do What I Want 2010

Maintenance isn’t that hard for me, but I’m also not seeking to gain any muscle mass. Just keeping what I’ve got is fine. I eat carbs with abandon in fruits and veggies, but really limit starchy carbs. Always.

Perhaps the diff. between my easy and your hard is the booze. If I drink a couple of times a MONTH that’s alot for me. And when I drink, its only one because I can’t hold ma liquor. But I don’t love the booze, so again – not hard.

That is some fine pulling, missy. Especially whilst cutting. YEAH!

great deadlifts. and beer with superbowl is mandatory.

yeah… u seem to have moderation locked in…me… not so much. but i’ve definitely improved by leaps and bounds in the last couple years. =+)

thanks girl. and yeah… i had to have a couple brewskis.

i was really good and just had three beers, one cupcake, and one cookie. everything else i ate for the day was healthy carbs and proteins. calories probably ended up around 2700 or so.

today’s another low carb/low cal day.

i don’t know if i ever wrote about my current goal in here… to have flat, fairly visible abs by the first day of spring. we leave for spain a couple days after that so it would be awesome to nail that goal. i think i have like 42 days or so left. it’s going to take some SERIOUS commitment.

interesting…maybe this is the key to getting/ staying lean?? fruits/veggies whenever, limit other carbs…veddy interesting…I dont really miss carbs when I limit them, but once I eat them I want MOOOORE!! Maybe thats why the RFL was effective for me…what I really craved was a juicy steak or honkin spoonful of PB

Alcohol? I get buzzed off of NyQuil, psh. seriously…I hardly ever drink!!

how many inches off the waist do you think you need to lose?

[quote]rcfromdb wrote:

1-2 off my natural waist… at least 2 off my fattest part which is about an inch below mah belly button. i do have quite a bit of fat to lose.

on another site i’m in a challenge where i have to post a pic of my love handles once a month. major cry!

i’ll attach january’s pic to show ya how much fat i’m holding on my lower back. the point of the challenge being to not have a month go by where my love handles look WORSE than they did the previous month. basically to keep me honest about my fat levels. especially come summer.

FF - C1

foam rolling, shoulder circuit
bb bench press: 65 x 8; 85 x 5; 100 x 5; 110 x 9 (no spotter)
bb bench press: 90 x 10, 9; 85 x 10, 10, 9
kroc rows: 45 x 12; 65 x 18

gonna get a complex of some sort in later.

what’s your plan?

nutrition wise??

i’m doing 2 days low carb/low cal followed by one day refeed high cal/carb. (usually dead/squat days)

hella focus on pre/peri/post nutrition.

90% clean foods.

alcohol at the most one day a week.

tearing through the xtend.

veggies daily.

multi, fish oil, creatine, zma, vit d, glutamine, thc

low days - protein around 150 g a day… carbs under 20%… the rest fat. cals 1400-1600

1 high day a week around 2000, the other high day around 2700. mostly carbs and protein.

training = 5/3/1 with lots of conditioning stuff

been at it about a month… waist down 1.5", belly down 2"… strength not down at all.

will probably have some 33/33/33 days a week added in there soon.

i’m highly motivated with no cravings or energy loss atm… so i’m going hardcore. as soon as spring comes i’ll loosen up a little and let the heavy weights/conditioning keep me at a decent fat level.

as long as my belly doesn’t jiggle when i walk i’ll be heppy.

Sorry Deja - just read through all the posts and all I remember is “Spain”. That is so cool.
Seriously, plan looks well though out to me.

plane leaves in 42 days!!! holla!!! can’t friggin wait!

Wow you lost 2" in the belly in a month? That’s seems really good! I’ve got several of my friends in a kickboxing/nutrition challenge and I am sure most of them are not doing that well. I think one of them is, and she is kickboxing/bands 6 times a week and whole clean foods 6x day.

PS nice deadlifts AND I love the stepups!

Nice krocs and bench. That looks like a quality cutting plan.

42 days to extreme jealousy.

Not to hijack, but I just wanted to say how impressed I am with this log and the people that have been posting in it.

I’m just getting back to training after a long and disgusting layoff period and I joined this site to check out the training logs and possibly start one of my own. On a lot of other sites, and in fact here in many of the male training logs, the majority of posts seem to be bashing the loggers routine or lifts. In this thread, and the threads on this forum in general, the feedback is really outstanding. If someone has a weak lift, the others encourage, and if someone has a great lift, the others applaud it; that’s a really awesome thing and you all should be commended for your positive attitudes.

Lastly, deja, your lifts are awesome. Getting those sort of numbers is impressive in general, but doing out of a home gym is even more incredible. To put it in perspective, I’m a dude that outweighs you by almost 20 pounds and your deadlift and overhead press both shame mine.

In sum, this log has put me in a fantastic training mood. Brava.

yeah… but knowing my body the next inch or so will take AGES to lose. =+)

oh kickboxing!! cool!!!

awesome post!! thanks man. i really needed to read this today actually!

the scale’s been a bitch the last couple days, i had a HORRIBLE shitfest squat day yesterday, and we got stuck in construction for over an hour on our way home from the parents today. ugh.

so thanks!!!

and don’t be a stranga. =+)

so like i said… absolute shit squat session yesterday. the forward lean was horrendous.

but those days happen… and i just need to put it behind me and not let it get me in a funk.

i think we’re gonna go out for valentine’s day tonight… since tomorrow is kali’s half marathon and then our neice and nephew’s bday party in the evening. and she has to work on actual vday. i’m hoping for thai food. i want sushi… but that’s a bit risky the night before a half mary. haha

oh I’m jealous of your valentine’s.

Don’t people carb-load the night before marathons?

Pleasure was all mine, I’m glad it gave you a little motivation. I think I may start a T-Nation log myself, I just started a training blog/diary, but some daily workout logs here might be a good addition.

I can speak from horrific personal experience that carb loading before a half marathon is one thing, and raw fish loading before a half marathon is a different story altogether.

word. Both of our squats will get there…someday, hopefully in a soon-ish time frame.

Have a lovely v-day celebration!

haha… kali’s entire life these days is a carb load. bitch!!

the valentines date never happened. we’re gonna just do something tonight since she gets off early. =+)

do it!

oh man… nasty!!

she did great in the half. especially for it being her first race.

her time was 1:51:31

thanks… we most certainly will.

FF - A2

foam rolling, shoulder circuit
military press: 55 x 8; 70 x 3; 80 x 3; 90 x 5
w8ed pullups: + 20 lbs x 3, 3, 2; bw x 5, 4
behind the neck bb press: 55 x 12, 11, 10
db snatches: 32.5 x 10L/10R, 10L/10R

i just love how when you move to bw pullups after weighted ones, they feel sooooooooo easy. kroc rows seem to really be helping on the pullups. i’m quite happy with them today since i ate a decent amount of junk yesterday and the bodyweight is pretty damn high this morning.

kroc rows are killer… I can only do them when I’m at home at the pro gym, but they are my favorite exercise.

no dumbbells big enuff eh??

yeah i really like em. i can’t get a hang of using straps on them though. i’ve tried it a couple times and it goes worse than when i don’t use them. not sure what i’m missing. hmm.

yesterday afternoon i did some sled pulls and they fucking ROCKED me. then i had to milk… and since we’re just getting back to double milkings… it involves a ton of pulling and pushing goats around. by the time i was done my legs were aching so bad. my hips are mucho sore today.

there have been SOOOOOOOOO many baby goats born this week. over 70. they are freakin CUTE the first day or two of their life. i need to get out and get a few pics.
