you should try DC training or maybe HST is great for experienced people. They are very different from most programs in bodybuilding. You are doing very well, but the quest for more mass just doesnt end (thats how i think at least). How is your training (sorry if i missed it through the thread, but if you could repost it i would appreciate it. Ow, if you dont do squats and deads, how are your legs and back doing.
Damn, 1morerep. You’re still up here getting responses. Very impressive sir. I remembered you saying that you were 160lbs but I saw recently that you are 170lbs. Are you putting on mass?

i’ve been using the power-rep range-shock training system and like it very much. my legs are actually improving despite no squats. my back admittedly does lack some thickness but width has never been an issue. my lower back is the weak link. but i have no plans to compete so i don’t let it bother me.
and rob yes i’ve been on a bulk. trying to put on a few extra lbs. in those pics i was 160 at around 9% bf. i’d be thrilled if i could be 165 at 9% by next summer.
I already checked your pics a few times, and I’m really impressed. You are in far better shape than most bodybuilders I know that are in their 20’s. I’m no bodybuilder, so I probably don’t know what I’m talking about, but I think you could easily compete.

could u elaborate in this system.
surely…here’s 2 links: one to a brief article by the system’s inventor eric brosier and another to the website forum.

Man, if you get any bigger you won’t be able to put your arms down. J/K
OP - it’s people like you that inspire people like me. Fantastic work, and I hope that I can achieve that kind of physique one day.
The last reply to this topic was 15 years ago??
Holy shit! Don’t know how many of you who were active in this thread so long ago are still around but I was going through some old book marks and found this thread. So to update things, the new title is now “I can’t believe it’s been 40 years”!!
I turned 55 in January and have been through some challenging stuff in my absence. I’d been training pretty consistently until I got COVID in July of 2020. Got though that ok. Mild symptoms luckily though it took about a month before I had the energy to start lifting again. I was doing ok for the first month. Slowly getting some strength and endurance back. Until one night about a month into things. I’d done my evening workout, showered and had a meal. When I got into bed around midnight, I wasn’t feeling too well. I noticed my heart rate was much faster than normal. I broke out my monitor and it was up around 100 BPM. My normal resting HR is in the low 60s. I was like wtf? I thought I maybe just needed a good night’s sleep. Not the case. I woke up and my heart rate was still way fast and I felt like shit. My chest hurt along with this pretty uncomfortable feeling of pressure, pain in my back and my left arm felt a bit tingly. I know these are heart attack red flag symptoms. I said that’s it…I need to get to the emergency room. Long story short, it took 3 incredibly stressful months to get my diagnosis - myocarditis. It’s going on 3 years and I still don’t feel like my old self. My cardiac MRI revealed some minor heart scarring. I can train but not nearly like I used to. The fatigue some days makes it very challenging. But I just keep doing the best that I can.
How are all of you??
This may be the most epic thread bump yet by the OP!
Sorry to hear about your health issues. Happy to hear you are still in the game.
Thanks!
I know for myself, i ask people with physiques that represent what im trying to achieve. But if they did steroids, i know to temper my expectations. Like if i put in the same effort, i wont get the same result without the pharmaceuticals.
@1morerep did you get the jab?
Narrator: He did not have that physique when he was 40
Haha, good to hear from you my man, although sorry to hear of your trials over the last few years. I do hope for an improved future for you
Just read through this whole thread. Amazing physique man! I have no doubt that you’ll bounce back and reclaim your glory once you’re cleared to train hard again!
I am in total agreement and assure you my development was achieved without the use of any type of PED. So if you have genetics on your side and are willing to put in the immense amount of work and discipline, you can make similar progress.
Thanks Dave! It was an epic thread indeed. I don’t think I’ll ever get to the point where I’ll be able to train like I used to. Long COVID stuff just seems to be the new normal unfortunately. Plus I am 55 which undoubtedly plays a part COVID or not. I’ll post a progress pic if/when I reach my leanness goal by late summer.
Cheers!
Many thanks, Lonnie. It’s been a rough road. Just when I feel like I’m getting on top of it, I get a flare up of symptoms which really make it difficult to train properly. Frustrating as fuck!
The jab? Do you mean gear or vax?
Vax. It is proven to raise incidence of myocarditis
