Up 12 lbs since early September. According to my Tanita scale, it’s roughly half fat & half muscle. But I can’t wait to get this bulk phase over with so I can start slimming down again. I hate myself like this! Too smooth! No abs…no tan…but it’s just a means to an end I keep reminding myself. Here’s a quick clip of my doing some absolutely awful posing…lol

I agree. Personally, I feel the real noticeable striations/tan make you look like your preparing for a contest, which isn’t necessarily the most aesthetically pleasing. But to each his own, I guess.
Regarding the extra 12 lbs, I’m not seeing much difference in your new and old photos. You were gonna try and work on back thickness, if I recall. If you haven’t reached your goal as far as that goes yet, I’d personally keep adding mass.
I’ll be interested in seeing if you thought it was worth it in a few more months.
I’d be cruising in maintenance mode with what you’ve acheived. Hell, you look great and have frickin garden hoses running in your biceps.
I’m still slimming out and hope to get looking closer to where you were before and not focus on bulking so much. 3 years is a good run.

12 pounds in a month and you still look pretty good man. It sounds like you might be gaining a tad fast in my opinion, maybe slow it down to 1 pounds a week instead of 3 pounds a week, thats quite a bulk.

you bulk real good dude. You seem to have gained mass in your traps alot. not to mention you gained almost no fat. like mabe a pound or two at most. what kind of food did you eat? I mean I know you have a quick metabolism but still its cool.

thanks and yes i know my calves are way weak. i’ve got great genetics for almost everything else but them. and i’ve gained more fat than that. my tanita body comp scale indicated it’s half & half so roughly 6 lbs of muscle and 6 lbs of fat. it may not be apparent in the vid but i’m much smoother than when those pics were shot…no doubt. i’m eating my usual sources of protein…grass fed beef, whole omega 3 eggs, chicken & tuna, whole milk, but i’ve definitely upped my carb intake.
i’m also downing a casein protein shake in the middle of the night. i always wake up around 3 to piss and i have it in the fridge already made. i pee, gulp it down with a few fish oil caps and back to bed.
Man I hope I look like that at 170. Trying to loose fat first sucks, but I am getting there haha

What I find most impressive is that at 170 you look like 190. I am 184 right now and do not look near as big. I’m floating around 14-15% body fat right now though.
Does anyone have any tips for a (almost always) stiff lower back. I’ve worked through it for 2 yrs but its been sore alot more lately.

thanks…and i know! for all my good genetics, i definitely fell short in the calf department. but i keep in mind that arnold had weak calves in his early days so there’s hope…
Wow. 12 pounds. I remember you saying that you wouldn’t be putting on much more weight but you’re looking pretty solid. Did your back get any thicker?
It’s hard to believe that you’re only 170 at 5’7’‘. If I get to a lean 200 I doubt I’d even reach your proportions at a height of 5’9’’
i can’t tell scott. but in the end after i trim down, it’ll probably be only about 3-4 lbs in the end.
