I Can't Believe It's Been 25 Years!

So does COVID, at 6x the rate at least last I checked. The person in this very thread has now had issues with it even 3 years later, and they got the virus, not the vaccine.

Edit: it’s actually 7x the rate Myocarditis in SARS-CoV-2 infection vs. COVID-19 vaccination: A systematic review and meta-analysis - PMC.

My initial infection was the cause of the myocarditis.

The cognitive dissonance omnipresent with this covid vax stuff. Get vaccinated… or don’t… But to pull up the risks and behave as if it’s better to actually get covid if you are over the age of 35 is unbelievable.

Even for younger people, it’s a VACCINE. The alt-right has made such a big deal about the covid jab and ONLY the covid-jab for some reason.

To note, I’m not specifying one is part of the alt-right if they are anti vax. I am specifying that it is predominantly the alt-right that is belligerently spreading misinformation… that and a startling number of individuals on this forum harbor beliefs that align with the alt right. Bodybuilders certainly tend to skew towards having conservative beliefs (somewhat myself included as I vote conservative). But I’m shocked at the degree to which I’ve seen conspiracy theories, ideological vendettas that cannot be justified or proven by evidence (purely anecdote or emotionally driven beliefs). If the sample of this forum is a representation of how divided America has truly become, it is very worrying.

Similar to how reddit has become a bit of an echo chamber for the far left (on many subthreddits), this forum has become a conservative echo chamber that is at times peppered with ideology one could consider to be associated with the far right of the political spectrum.

For anyone who doesn’t believe me that it’s the far right spreading misinformation about vaccines… look at the politicians who promote anti-vax narratives, look at the websites that promote anti-vax narratives

The groomer conspiracy theory has repeatedly been brought up here as if it is FACT… I could go on and on. It’s more “alt light” as the alt right ideology outlined on here is typically devoid of the racial supremacy seen within the alt right. However I have a feeling many are simply not disclosing what they truly believe in relation to this topic.

If this is representative of conservatives in America now (doubt it), that is troubling… because the left are also (on average) shifting farther and farther left. Both sides are reactionary, feeding off of one another in order to gravitate towards further extremes.

This isn’t a vaccine thread.

But what people are most upset about, save for the conspiracy theory types, is the simple lie told to everyone: the covid vax is safe & effective - but it is neither.

You don’t have to be far right or alt-right whatever that means to be mad because you have been lied to. And in many cases forced to inject in order to save your means of income. All due to misinformation that was known to those in positions of authority and power at the time - that’s what is such a big deal.

@67ray what part of 6 or 7 times the risk, based on a review of 22 eligible studies consisting of 55.5 million vaccinated cohorts and 2.5 million in the infection cohort, do you not understand ?

I don’t know if I want to perpetuate this topic but in the interest of deterring unsubstantiated claims, I must ask what your source of proof is to support the claim that we were lied to?

There is nothing for you here.

Its gonna be some combination of Fauci hate, vaccine denial (lots of people dont consider this a vaccine because it uses a new method), some combination of “you can still get it!” or “you can still spread it” or “it isnt 100% safe and 100% effective for this and every mutation” when those things are never, or incredibly rarely, part of the vaccine conversation in general

Its a combination of uncertainty, doubt, mistrust of big government and big pharma (not without justification for sure), resentment about being “forced” to take it, with a small dusting of truth all rolled up into a big anti-vax ball (but always now with the caveat that they definitely are not anti-vax) . There may be some study that shows some bit of something which is extrapolated well beyond its usefulness, or some government agency or representative that kinda sorta said something that sounded like an evil thing or a pie in the sky hope that didnt materialize and that gets blown out of proportion.

Can you define what you mean by the words “safe” and “effective” ?

Well we can start with the fact (undisputed, at this point) that the vax doesn’t prevent covid. You say your chances of getting myocarditis are higher if you get the virus? Well now you not only have the vax but you can get the virus too - best myocarditis chance of all amiright?

Then we can look at the next fact that the vax doesn’t prevent the spread of covid. Let’s start there. There is the actual Pfizer exec saying they never tested the vaccine against spread of covid, yet that was the justification given for requiring it. Big lie.

If you want more, then let’s look at the lie that it didn’t come from a lab in China. And now the CDC is saying that yes it probably did. More lies.

Don’t care if you get the vax or not - but don’t sit there and say we weren’t lied to.

PS please don’t make this thread a pissing contest by trying to attack point-by-point. That horse is beaten to a bloody pulp. And forgive yourself for believing the lies because many people did.

Although still battling occasional heart symptom flare ups, various levels of fatigue and general unwellness, I’ve had to cut my volume down quite a bit lately (while keeping the sets fairly intense). But I’m somehow managing to make some progress with only about 4 hours of gym time per week. Perhaps the lower volume is allowing me to better recover.
