I, Bodybuilder

Apparently this is coming out in 2-3 weeks: Forums - T Nation - The World's Trusted Community for Elite Fitness

Packaged or not, this is gonna be great. Hell, if it weren’t for CT (Beast Evolves and the Mutation Series), I probably wouldn’t even be on this site.

That’s refreshing

What? No more kettlebell? My heart is broken.

Tell me about it!

Any chance Tim will be chiming in more publicly when this program drops? The few times I’ve seen him post he was always a stand up guy whose passion you could tell from his writings. I would love to get more Tim Patterson in the forums.

I think a lot of folks are quick to try to guess what’s up. Obviously the more hardcore guys are a little tired of all the V-Diet stuff because it’s aimed at the gym-going types that we typically look down on as not working nearly as hard as we do (and then bitching and moaning how they DON"T EVEN WANT to be huge -lol).

Personally, I’ve learned so much over the years from Thibs’ writings (the pile of print outs I have is pretty staggering), that I’m just curious to see what he’s been up to. Sure there’s never the one great super duper program that will make us all look like Arnold, but there’s always a few gems you can take away from most programs, even if you don’t follow them to the letter.

You kinda hit the nail on the head here… few people know this but Tim Patterson is a DIE HARD bodybuilding fan. He grew up training alongside Arnold, Mentzer and the whole Golds gang. He honestly doesn’t care much about athletic training, crossfit and all the “modern” waves of training.

He took a step back from T-Nation a while back and now wants to focus it more toward bodybuilding.

Awesome.

Agreed. Thanks for sharing this info, CT!

That being said, let’s not let it get to our heads. He gets paid to get us all giddy and excited about this stuff…

I’m impressed he’s sticking to his original vision instead of catering to the quickly growing crop of MMA athletes and pre-hab/functional crowd. Good for him! If he’s as big a bodybuilding fan as you say - he should follow his passion.

I’m pretty sure though that Tim doesn’t get paid extra to spend hours on the phone with me telling me about it, just because he is so enthused with it and recognizes that I appreciate that kind of thing also.

And seeing as it’s free, I don’t think his reason was figuring that getting me excited would result in more dollars in the bank. No, he no doubt actually is, and for good reason.

As for the test subjects: Not to throw too much cold water on it, but good training programs with suitable subjects, who for whatever reason had not really been training optimally or near it right up to that point, have produced big gains before. That, I have seen before.

But as for Coach Thibaudeau’s own results: Now this is someone that I know for sure knew how to train, as well as anybody and far better than most, had been doing so very seriously and consistently for a long time, had significant accomplishments in strength and was currently quite strong, and had been working hard from the bb’ing angle as well for considerable time and with considerable skill and dedication.

When someone in this position makes gains like these anything like this fast, that’s reason to stand up and pay attention. As personal opinion.

This is some great news, not only this program coming out, but also the idea of Tim going back to BB so to speak. I too would also love to hear more from Tim while I have no doubt that he is hella busy.

We might pull him out of his cave sometime next week.

This is great to hear that the top management has embraced, even helped drive this.

Honestly, after a bit of a lull (IMO), it’s exciting to see some real meaty features happen on the site. Between this and the more apparent relationship with Dave Tate and EliteFTS, it’s renewed my faith that there really is dedication to size and strength in the Testosterone Nation.

Awesome.

Oh yeah, a Tim-transformation.

End result: 250 lbs with abs showing. (plus/minus, not sure how tall he is)

We have full confidence in you to help him get there, CT

i believe its actually pronounced “iBODYBUILDER”, and they’re working with Apple Computers on it

(it actually is great to see the roots showing through a little more again - respect -

It’s sad that after being americanized kettlebells acquired a bad fame. It’s actually a great device and served to build great GPP and overall fitness all around USSR. Back when the gyms didn’t exist, kids took their father’s KB’s (almost every family had one) and played with it for fun because there were no computers and other stuff that produces weaklings. It was not uncommon for a 14 year old to do endless sets of overhead pressing with 16kg KB. That, and of course a lot of soccer and pull-up bars in the playgrounds produced great strength base for future athletes AND ordinary people.

And now for me it is painful to see KBs connected with gayness like crossfit.

I can’t wait for this programm to come out!

sometime next week, eh? I am ready to rock it!

For a split second, I thought that was exactly what the name was. I’m glad it’s not.

I’ll follow the program to the letter. I’ll eat and sleep and breath it.

Gained 8 pounds or so only by following the “new” Para-Workout Nutrition Protocol. Workouts unadjusted.

Am 219.25 pounds at 8% bdf now and feel like hitting old heights angain… 242 was my max weight (to fat to be proud of). Think I will be back there soon pretty lean and mean…
