Also, how do you guys feel these shoes perform for deadlifts? Decent hopefully.
Less than ideal. The heel is going to raise you off the floor, creating a longer pull. It’s also going to push your knees forward so you may have to manuever around them. I’d use the Oly shoes for your Squat variations, and use something like a Chuck or a DL slipper for Deads.
Some PLers even use a shoe with raised toes for DLing.
I’d like to know where to find a pair. One of the girls I lift with had a pair custom made for her. I’ve been told that because of an oly lifting background, I get too far over the bar and use my quads too much with conventional DL. Maybe raised toes would help.
The woman I know who uses them had them custom made. I can ask where she had them done next time I see her.
I have both the black suede Do-Win Rogues and the red and white leather one
they both have the same heel height and also exactly the same as my old Addidas Iron Work shoes
The Do-Wins feel so much better than the Ironworks! Wider and more comfortable. Straps are too long though…
The leather one feels the best. Guess why it’s more expensive. But black is my colour
sizing is very large though
I wear 10.5 Nike Frees - snug fit
11 regular shoe
The Addidas are size 11
The Do-Wins are size 10 for a perfect fit!
If you have a question about the sizing for Do-wins I’d look up Glenn Pendlay and call him. He is one of the people that have been selling Do-wins for a while and I’ve always had great customer service with him.

ouroboro, i was gonna get those shoes from winnipeg!
but I didn’t trust them haha.
I found another pair of oly shoes. 85 dollars, and located in Toronto…and I live close to there so it’s perfecttt in case they suckass.
I was okay with it because everyone at our club has them. In fact, at our last meet, I looked down and everyone in the room was wearing identical shoes from the same guy. I suppose it’s different if you don’t know anyone with experience with the company. The guy actually sent two pairs so I could try both and keep the best ones.
He did the same for me. These shoes are badass.
Are you talking about that mike guy who makes shoes? I got a pair of kangaroo skin hightop oly shoes from him.

I’m not sure whether his name is Mike but he’s out of Winnipeg. I love my shoes. However, I took too long to return the second set (approx. 5 days) and I got a sternly worded email from him. Just a warning to anyone else getting shoes from him. Be faster than I was.
Just wondering… how long did it take you to get the shoes delivered to you from Winnipeg? I’m curious because I’m leaving for home for the christmas break for about 3 weeks and was wondering if they would come in time or if I should just get them sent to my place at school.

If I remember correctly, it was approximately 2 weeks.
For those that have tried them, would you go with the 2004 Adidas Adistar or the new Do-Win Rouge? They both look pretty good to me, but I’ve heard repeatedly that the straps on the Rouges are too long.

They are not comparable shoes. The Doowins are Chinese garbage. I had a pair of the red suede Doowins which I destroyed in less than 7 months. One of my training partners has a pair of the white leather ones, she destroyed hers in 4 months. The straps are way too long as well.

I wish you were a little more definitive in your recommendation. This wishy-washy shit gets old.

Can’t tell if this is sarcasm, but to reiterate they are Chinese garbage. For the same price you can get the Adistars off the USAW website.
eic, how wide is your foot? The Do-wins are better for a wider foot, but the adistars will be fine for narrow or normal feet. I have the adistars and a few other guys I train with use the Rogues but I can’t say I noticed anything unusually bad about the build quality. The straps are abnormally long though.

I’ve got narrowish feet, I guess. I had a pair of Ironworks long ago and they seemed to fit fine. I am leaning towards the Adistars, I think. I am also interested in the Nike Romaleos, except they are super expensive and can’t be found anywhere. I haven’t seen a bad review of them yet, though.
