Let’s say you have a cat. And your cat likes to fuck shit up. If it wants to paw the toilet paper like a speed bag it will all spin off the roll if it’s over. If it’s under the roll will just roll and the toilet paper will stay where it is.

I have no cats.
I still cannot come up with a good reason why under would be better than over.
Literally only for people with cats to avoid this ^ lol.

^^
also little kids and roid ragers. they grip it and rip it so it comes rolling off onto the floor.
when they see the tp on the floor the roid rage kicks in again and they rip the roller off the wall. then they pull the toilet off the floor and throw it through the bathroom door. that’s why you have it roll under.

Fold, just make sure you have enough layers. And no, I cannot spare a square.

I have to ask: is there a reason you have the plates on backwards in your avatar?
2 reasons.
I have a kind of an OCD. So the plate’s face has to face outward otherwise the lift will be no good. (Also, all the plates have to be of the same kind down to the lettering otherwise the lift will be no good).
It’s the way I put them on, with the bar either between my legs or to my side. And if it is in front of me I grab the plate with both hands at 9 and 3, fingers toward me. If you like, just for you I will upload a bar loading video.
Lol we could never train together. I can not stand and refuse to take a lift of any kind with the weights facing away from me lol. Superstition I guess but, I have actually walked in to a session about 40 mins late and every one was already into some big numbers 600-700 reverse band Squats and I noticed one of the plates was facing the “wrong” way… I unloaded the whole bar and reloaded it…

You know I think flipping the plates would be some really good brain/muscle confusion. Instead of switching assistance work or adding weight just flip the plates and record your flipped plate PRs. Hell, this could even be a new training fad. Fuck band squats, flip the plates over. Block pulls? Nah, flip the plates. Chains? Nope. Plates, other way.

I can see the Laura Phelps next Training video now, Squat Safety Bar Squat to a Deluxe Extra Low Hard Faom Box, with 200lbs Chains Suspended, Light Reverse Band, Blindfolded … with the plate facing out PR

I think this thread is better now that we are solving the big problems in life.
Personally, I do not understand people’s obsession with whether or not someone is juicing or not.
None of this really matters. The world isn’t going to end if nobody ever hits 2200 natty. AND, on top of it all, I haven’t even hit a solid 1200 yet after almost 3 years of concentrated effort. How am I going to wonder if it is possible for me to get to 2200?
We are all anonymous dudes on a message board who have nothing better to do than talk about how we like to pick up the heaviest things we can, and our desire to pick up more in the future.
Don’t get me wrong, this place is awesome, and hilarious, and I enjoy talking to all of you, but I think that this thread should be a reminder that we all need to keep our lives in perspective here.
The one thing that is true for me is that the bigger/stronger I get, the more I believe that guys bigger/stronger than I am can be natural.
All right, it’s a bump of a couple of months, but I saw a video that a friend of a friend had posted and immediately thought of this thread.
Unfortunately I couldn’t download the video, so I had to resort to screen caps. In this highly sophisticated display, you see by the picture on the left, the guy got the car off the ground. After he lowers it and lets go, in the video you can see that he attached a v-bar handle (chained, or somehow suspended, it seems) and it starts swinging around. Much harder to see in a still photo, so I circled it.
Obviously doesn’t prove that he CAN’T do it without the handle, but I do think it supports my point, that the difficulty is being underestimated because it’s not the weight, but the awkwardness of the challenge that makes it so difficult.
There was a guy here at Comic Con that made a solid iron replica of Thor’s hammer, the thing weighed roughly 135 lb. Awkward as shit to lift, made me question my strength.
I actually calculated what a replica made of a more dense element would weigh. Iridium being the second densest would make a hammer of around 560 lb. Platinum (third densest) is more interesting because although it would weigh about 500lb it would cost 7.2 million to make lol. If 135lb in hammer form is awkward to lift imagine 560 haha

Grip strength is funny like that. If you don’t have the grip strength for an awkward sort of implement it’ll just feel like it’s glued to the floor.

In what way was it awkward? Thick handle? Were you trying to one hand it?

A weight in condensed form is deceiving. Because it’s so compact it drastically throws your center of gravity off so it doesn’t feel like 135 on a barbell. The handle isn’t so thick it’s just that 130 lb is hanging off the end of it. I’m sure if I tried to lift it like a goblet squat it wouldn’t have been so awkward, but I tried to lift it like a sledge hammer except the handle is a foot long.
