How to Do I Get Rid of My Hourglass Shape?

I dont get it, im still working on weight loss, so mine isn’t pronounced, but I can tell im going to have the hourglass shape, wide ribcage, wide hips. The tighter my core muscles becomes, along with fat loss this will be much more visible. The idea doesn’t bother me so long as Im healthy and look better than I do now, so i dont get it. Is this undesirable body shape in men?

This is a 4 year old post, so who knows what replies you will get.

For the most part, yes. Wide shoulders and a narrow waist is the most commonly sought after shape.

The hourglass shape or pear shape are seen as feminine.

I think the desires for different shapes come from how well they do for strength and athletics. A pear shape isn’t as good for strength, sports or fighting as a upside down triangle shape.

You cannot change your bone structure. Okay I have some picture from today. I lost some weight, but I’m still disappointed in my physique this year (surgeries, stress bla bla).

As you can see I have wide hips, tiny waist, and average clavicles. So what? The goal is to achieve the best with what you got.

First of all, get lean. 10-15% BF is the sweet spot for most.

You don’t believe me when I say I used to have narrow shoulders right? Man, with hips so wide, I used to look like a traffic cone when I was a teen.

So what did I do? I focused on my delts for YEARS. Aesthetics are about illusion.

Fortunately I am blessed with a tiny waist. Then you pummel the shoulders and the lats, and poof, you look wide!

Then for the legs: improve the quads, especially the vastus lateralis.

Unfortunately for me, I have a congenital valgus, and also arthrosis and multiple knee surgeries.

So what? I still try to make the best with I have.

Give it a try and be patient, you will be pleased with the results, I GUARANTEE, even if you don’t end up looking like CBUM

Yeah this is kind of the expectation I have for when I’ve completed my transition. I don’t know for sure because I’ve been overweight since my childhood. But I don’t see why anybody would be unhappy with that kind of physique I wouldn’t when I get there I’m going to be proud of myself.
