Hi all I was just wondering if you have any advice or tips on how to burn love handles. Im not a heavy guy but big sides is kinda of a genetic thing and what would be the best way to trim them down?
lower your body fat with smart dieting and exercise.
gasoline and a lighter?
Carb cycle (look up the carb cycling codex).
Train more
Drop some fat all over.
Train harder to “earn” your carbs
If your asking about spot reducing bodyfat, there’s no such thing. You can’t target a specific area to burn fat. just read around on the site about fat loss diets
You should know that the obliques don’t have much potential for hypertrophy. Targeting your “core” with bosu balls and broomstick twists might make your lovehandles burn and make you think they’re melting away but that’s not really what’s happening at all.
Your best bet to get rid of a gut is to eat cleaner and leaner by cutting out simple carbohydrates and fats you know are bad for you. Drinking a lot of water and doing some sort of interval sprint training will help speed up your metabolism way more than green tea or supplement pills.
Doing Waterbury’s 10 reps of 3 for back squats with heavy weights for squats will cause you to lose fat, get hardness that can only come from big weights, and work your trunk area.
You can also make your love handles look smaller by making your lats bigger.
I got the same problem, thanks for the great tips.
stop eating.

I was going to say take your shirt of when you work in the yard, but your advice seems more time efficient.
OK, seriously now. Don’t try to spot exercise your way out of this. Sure some core ab work isn’t bad, but if that is given too much emphasis all you’ll get is bigger, firmer muscles holding out your love handles.
Instead, you need to get your diet working well, have some good progressively building cardio that includes some high-intensity interval training (search for Atomic Kitten’s recent article and John Berardi’s progressive cardio article for ideas), and lift the big muscle groups using complex lifts (any number of articles and forum threads can help you with this).
This will help burning fat, but it will also build up your chest/lats/back, shoulders, hips, and legs making your love handles proportionally smaller and less noticeable, especially in clothes where people will see a nicer chest to waist to hip ratio than you have.
You might add some exercises (both strength and flexibility) that help any postural issues such as slouching or rounded shoulders (check out using rollers and strengthening/securing the shoulder blades for instance) that can minimize your chest, lats, back and shoulders, and add to your waist line.
If you’ve gotten the diet and exercise down and you are trying just to get that last little bit, search for some of the thermogenic supplements you might add. The benefit of these compared to getting the diet and exercise working better is relatively small, so focus on what will make the big differences.
Wasn’t there a scene is Se7en (With Brat Pitt) about this topic? Ok, so it’s a stretch…
