How Often Do You Squat?

At the moment twice a week. Front squat on Mondays and normal back squat on Thursdays. Seems to work quite well for the time being.

I suppose you guys are more sensible than I.
I’m currently training every other day, alternating heavy (3x3 rep max. So 3,2,1 usually) total body sessions with lighter work/DE/GPP… so twice a week, on average.

Currently only once a week, but I work the lower body three times a week. Monday is back squat (deep oly squat), wednesday is GM or DL and friday is unnilateral work (most of the time it’s barbell split squat).

Squatting on Thursday
Lunges/Hamstring work on Monday

I have been playing around with something similar to the Sheiko templates you see out there, but with with some exercise variety- different bars, gear/no gear, low box/high box/no box, leg press in lieu of squats if my back hurts, etc. A lighter volume week would have have two squat days- one light, one heavier. A heavier volume week would have an extra day thown in Something like this:

Main squat day; 1st exercise- buffalo bar free squats with briefs and maybe wraps: 70%x5x2, 80%x3x2, 85%x2x2
2nd exercise-lox box SSB squats: 50%x5, 60%x5, 70%x5x2

Lighter day; box squat- no gear: 45%x5, 55%x4, 65%x4x3 (maybe with bands if this is a low volume/high intensity seek)

Extra Day (if a high volume week); Free squats- mostly raw, maybe put on wraps on heavy sets if I think I need them: 55%x5, 65%x4x2, 75%x3x3

as part of CW’s stregnth focused mesocycle…2 sometimes 3 times in a week, depending on how the days round out…

FS - 190 for 3x5
BS - 235 for 3x8

Once a week. My main goal is to put more size on my wheels. I dont understand how some of you can squat 2-3 times a week. It usually takes 1-2 days before I can walk normal again after a leg day and 5-6 before all the soreness goes away.

I actually squat twice a week, ME/DE.

I use to do the same as you but after a while you gotta ask yourself whether you couldn’t make as much gain and still be able to function properly in everyday life. Also if you have a manual job then repeated DOMS is a no go.

I squat every morning like clockwork right before I shower…no, wait. You’re talking about something else.

As for squatting with weights. :slight_smile: I’m on a 4 day on, 1 day off program. Every 1st day is legs. I do 15, 12, 10, 4, 1, 1, 1 for reps.

currently 8 out of 10 sessions per week usualy first exercies. always from 80% to 100%, mostly but not always front squats (im an weightlifter so its fairly mandatory)

I squat once/week right now, usually 2-3 days after doing sprint work. I play baseball and softball. I’ll do 2 weeks of back squats, 2 weeks of front squats, 2 weeks of box squats. Followed by unilateral leg work and 1-2 hamstring exercises depending how legs feel.

I squat every time I hit the gym,but i do different variation of the squat.and also i do either repetition,max effort or dynamic effort.i train like this because i am boxer,so i try to develop all types of strenght and not overtain.
