How Much Ya Bench?

Pshaw! Benching is for wussies. I work my pecs by grabbing a piece of coal, clasping my hands together and squeezing it into a diamond.

however much I want. But it’s always more than you.

Not enough to brag on a forum. LOL!

I recently realized I was raising my butt of the bench while benching, I had to back off the weight I was benching by 12 lbs. to correct my form.

That sucks!

I made 1.25 pounders out of chainlinks and carabiners, so it’s possible.

I have a 10 and a 12 lb. bar, so I can do 2-3 lb. progressions depending on which bar I use.

i switched to dbs instead of the bar and i find it much more comfortable, it just have to grip with my injured side more

225lbs for 5 reps at bodyweight of 154lbs. Haven’t gone for a 1RM.

285 was my max a few months ago…going for 300 sometime soon. But that’s not functional strength, so who cares, right?

My best so far has been 485 at a bodyweight of 225. That was over a year ago and I haven’t maxed out since, but as of last week, I can get 405 for 6 reps, and 255 for 25 reps.

Damn Strong! Props man.

Well, I haven’t maxed for a while, but I hit 315x2 on my 6th set of bench today. I weigh 185. On a cutting diet now, but should be able to get back in the 330/340 range again soon.

Wow, very, very nice. One day I will hit 400

Props to you as well! 315 x 2 at a body weight of 185 is impressive.

IM A BEAST AT 225x8. haha jokes, i felt like putting down my mediocore stat here.

I’ve never benched my max 1rpm before I wouldn’t know. how much do u think i can bench at 1rpm if i can do 225x8?

btw i weigh 190

270 and climbing monthly at 145 bodyweight. and serious question. anyone know if benching all around like incline, decline, flat, flyes has any advantage over simply going heavy and many sets of low reps with flat bench?

Yes, hitting the chest from all angles will help both muscular and strength development.

vancouserasian, a rep calculator puts you at a 1 rep max of 285, but you can’t always count on those as other variables besides x amount of reps at a lower weight factor in to a one rep max.
