I just choose to be proud. Pride in one’s accomplishments is not a bad thing. We should be proud of doing awesome things.

Your motivations are not going to get you where you want to go.

If you’re doing this for external validation, you are among the post-breakup pump bros that spend 6 months in the gym making progress, get a girlfriend, then stop going to the gym.

I made it past four years on and off.Yes,hopefully I can continue but it doesn’t mean if I gave it up things would be bad.I am not a pro so it’s ok

Think back to when you played soccer. You showed off by having great soccer skills when you played soccer.

If you want to show off lifting, show off by having great skills in the gym. So re rack your weights and stay off your phone.

My parent was the not supportive of soccer but they are ok with working out, cardio and strenght.Hence, working out is suppprted by them compared to soccer so seems easier. But ultimately they still want me to put my all in making money/career as working out is seen as a hobby by them and also I workout to be discipline and use it as an advantage during work

…

I guess these line up pretty well.

Fix your internal motivations and you will start seeing changes. Do some reading on dopamine feedback loops and learn how to set yourself up to stop falling off the wagon. It sounds like you’re super into lifting, then get bored, then lifting, then bored.

This is huge! I always say to be an ā€œambassador of strength/liftingā€. People already think we’re all meatheads and douchebags: don’t prove them right. Go out of your way to be kind, courteous, and intelligent.

My brother brought me into lifting,he was university powerlifting team and got gold medal. When he graduate and moved to the workforce, stress happens, environment and circumstances change. Now he gave it up and is weaker physically.Me and him are also not really on good terms,we are competing in the gym sometimes and also right before he gave up.Now he is off working out probably like 1 month plus?

Well said!

I am wondering how people like the rock,John Cena as example and maybe Mike o’hearean they seem to be so consistent with working out and maintaining their physique that they never seen to not workout.Only the fast and furious guy forget his name has picture of him be come fat, even though he is also famous for having muscular physique

Their bodies earn them millions.

Honestly? It’s going to happen. People will notice. The best thing is to be silent and humble and not offer suggestions unless someone asks for them.

Is that their motivation or is that the reason they get million?

Both.

Whats the issue?
For most in here it is a hobby. The majority of people who will make a reasonable living at it is pretty low.

My insurance made the out of pocket expenses fairly inconsequential compared to other expenses.

Many have asked me how I stayed motivated to train and diet. They were amazed at my commitment.

I would tell them, how committed does the smoker need to faithfully smoke cigarettes? How committed does the drug addict need to faithfully find his next fix? That is the same commitment that kept me training and committed to a diet that optimized my body composition. Simply put I am addicted to training.
