I have been going to the Gold’s by my work for maybe 4-5 years now? I have grown to hate it. They have not invested or maintained it well at all. Always broken shit, crappy music and D-Bag HS kids wearing those damned self made ‘nipple’ shirts to show off their swole lats. That being said I pay 10$ a month and it has ample squat racks so I am still there.
I wear nipple shirts =(.
I also belong to team nipple shirt.

My thoughts are if a person is hung up on another man’s gym attire he is not focusing enough on his own lifting.

GYMNOS=NAKED=ZOMG
You are too small to wear nipple shirts.
I didn’t realize nipple shirts were such an exclusive club?
Super exclusive brah. And I was being sarcastic.
ha! And here I was penitently burning my nipple shirts in my backyard for transgressing the unspoken codes of the nipple shirt brotherhood.

$11.66 per month… Its the old world’s gym, now called metro… typical gym, no bball courts, just weights, machines, cardio equipment and i think an aerobics room… m’eh whatever. it works.

I have two memberships, one near my house for $29/mo which is a better than average equipped gym with a prowler, thick bars, safety squat bars, chains, KB’s, a land mine, and a some other cool stuff. The one near my job is $19/mo and it has only one squat rack, dumbbells only go up to 100lbs., can’t use chalk or drop weights, etc… basically a step or two above Planet Fitness, but it’s close to work. I also have an olympic bar (as in the good one made to be dropped) with bumper plates and collars, a regular bar (as in a regular 45lb olympic bar) with a few hundred pounds of old rusty iron, and a few KB’s at my house in the backyard.

I keep telling myself I’m gonna weld up a simple power rack ( I have a welding machine and easy access to steel) but I haven’t had the time.

$32/mo for a fairly new facility, lots of equipment, and as long as you don’t go around 4-7 no waiting.

$0.00 since it’s in my garage.

20 dollars a month… The gym sucks… Thinking about upgrading and that one is hardcore and only 35 a month…
I’ve trained in some truly ‘great’ gyms. My wife of course always felt that they were dingy and dirty, without the latest cushiony machines. To me, while I do appreciate a well kept facility, I think the atmosphere is more conducive to being productive than having the latest cutting-edge-must-have-can’t-build-a-good-physique-without-it equipment.

No fucking doubt! I agree!

I go to a World Gym that looks like a horrible nightclub. I mean who wants to hear shitty songs about “Let’s Party All Night” and it’s 6:20 Monday morning?

There’s one thing I love in a gym (after good weights and basic equipmentand all that) and that’s SPACE! My World Gym may have three floors and tons of stuff, but I kid you not there’s no space to do deadlifts sometimes, I mean out of the squat rack, then guys are slidding past your ass. I mean it.

$95.00 per Month for a fucking SPA ; ( No other option where I live, which is in the middle of nowhere. Crappy 19 Yard pool, because the Jackass that built the facility did not want swim meets held in HIS pool ! That tells you the mentality of the fucktards i have to deal with.

95% machines, 5% free weights…

1 raquetball court…the other 5 where converted to “cardio” shit. Even though we live at 8000ft and the outdoor possiblities are

ENDLESS !~ 6 tennis courts which are under SNOW 6 months of the year !~

A BISTRO where after your fat ass comes off the elliptical you can order a Burger, Beer, Wine and Taquilla …

Yeah, my right nut for a proper training facility…
Your gonna run out of nuts pretty quick if that’s per month

$279 a month, seeing everyone’s numbers make me feel like I might possibly (possibly) be paying too much. That is for two gyms. This should be in the confessional forum maybe.

$100/month, Gold’s Gym in Japan. Ouch. Pay by 6 month or 1 year periods.

Will be happy to use Z’s Gym when I get back to the US - ie, my basement.

Old hole in the wall gym: $60/month. Tiny room and very little equipment but it had barbells and benches and racks. And I live a three minute walk away. BUT only open 6-10pm and not on Sundays. And I wanna train in the mornings now so I left my beloved dungeon gym and am…

Now a proud member of Gold’s Gym Japan!

$68 a month for a day time visitor (7am-6pm no Sundays)
$14/month for a tiny locker I keep a towels, shoes, creatine and beta-alanine and straps/bands etc in.
Then the kicker is the commute. If I train five days a week and take the train its another $64 a month. I have a motorcycle but it’s 400cc and parking is limited; the only monthly parking I have even found so far is $100 a month. Train is marginally faster, but the bike ride is more enjoyable. I’m gonna try calling tiny privately owned parking lots and see if I can haggle a deal at something like $30 since I would only park in the morning and take up limited space. Even at best it all comes together at like $100+ a month.

I may just have to take it in the ass and pay for expensive parking. But I really enjoy the vanity of walking into the gym with my motorcycle helmet and jacket in hand and sunglasses on. I feel like I’m invading this small island with my American ferocity.
