I once set up for any Oly clean and jerk with a mixed grip. Right before I pulled it, I realized the error of my ways and had a super good chuckle. I’d pay good money to see a mixed-grip snatch. Anyone?

there is no way you could bump with a mixed grip. be funny to see someone try though, I’d think by mid thigh it would become painfully obvious something is wrong!

Here is my kid in her first meet, snatching 33 kg (73lbs). She’s up to about 82lbs now on that lift and 95lbs on the C&J

I missed this, of course gear counts, but not if you are wearing a thong under it. That adds 20lbs to your lift and makes your ass nice in a singlet.
Jules, after you rest up some test that raw DL. I’m getting shit out of my suit, maybe knowing your raw lift will motivate me to get into my new Metal suit that is sitting in a drawer.

I will do that. I think you may have a better raw pull. I’m weak off the floor but recently doubled 4 plates from just below the knees. The pop I get off the floor gets me to the point where I’m strongest.

Anyway, I wasn’t wearing a thong. I was wearing a super sexy pad for incontinence. I’ve done that at my last few meets. It turns out a number of us older ladies like to avoid pissing on the floor during an eye popping squat or pull. I blame my children.

LOL I am wearing them everytime I DL, and it ain’t from the kids either. I know a 22 year old with the same problem, no kids.
I peed a bit a few months back on the platform at the gym and a guy noticed LOL, he kinda smiled at me and the puddle. Since then, maxis all the way LOL.

I can only hope my kids are that cool…if I decide to adopt some midgets that is.

Since I had a great deadlift day today, I thought I’d post it here and revive this thread a bit. I have another meet in 4 weeks and this was my last heavy DL day.

I went to a double at 335 (straps up) and pulled 295 for six touch and go straps down. There were a shit ton of other reps but those were my high lights. They were then followed by 3x10 snatch grip deads up to 175.

Not lifting in the singles these days, Sunday was 5x235x3 reps.

Pulled a 341 at 177 at my first meet last December.

Failed to do so again at my most recent meet in June and only came up with 330.

Still want that 350 god damn it.

Niagara plan at the moment is:
127.5/140/145
65/70/72.5
145/155/165

7/9 will get me elite but I really just want my final pull. That’s what I’m going for.

Selling my kids for the suit was absolutely worth it. I was going to give them away.

I haven’t done a ton of singles either; just a few here and there. It’s mostly been doubles and triples.

I know women in here lift more than me, (especially Deja, of whom I am seriously envious in the DL) but I can’t just let this log disappear. Bump, with a vid. :slight_smile:
