Would anyone like to ask me if I care?
bc i dont.
If I majored in English I would give a rats ass, but currently I do not and I don’t.
26 reps here. trying to hit 30 soon.
The point is; you shouldn’t need to be an english major to have a basic grasp of spelling and grammar in your first language.
Anyway, 7.
Well my point is that I do not need some keyboard warrior telling me how to spell, when and where to put apostrophes and overall how to speak. By me saying “you’re” instead of “your” did it personally affect anyone’s lives? Did I infringe upon anyone’s rights? I did not think that I did. So what is the point of correcting me if it really has no affect on anyone?
The correction of my spelling was someone who is on a power trip wanting to show superiority of their knowledge of the english language. It seems to me that they find joy in correcting peoples grammar online. What is the cause of this? Not being able to show superiority anywhere else in life but on a forum?
Furthermore, I must have a “basic” grasp of the English language seeing that I attend college… Never mind, my application was denied because I used the wrong “your”.
Don’t get too mad he just isn’t smart enough to decipher on the spot what you meant. That’s why he did that, so next time you don’t have him waste 2h of his life trying to solve the puzzle.
I’m not trying to drag this down into an English discussion, but I thought the cartoon was funny and applicable, and was saved on my hard drive, so I posted it. Take it to heart or not, it won’t affect my life one way or the other. Glad you got into college bro, your family must be very proud.
I would just as likely make fun of your poor grasp of your native language in person as online, but since I didn’t have the opportunity to laugh at you in person, I unfortunately had to do it here.
If you want to pretend like potential future employers won’t think down on you for simple grammar mistakes, power to you. Hopefully you will get drafted and never have to worry about filling out job applications. 95% or so of college football players make it to the next level, right?

Anybody else wonder how many times these posts were read, and re-read for correct spelling, punctuation and grammar?
