I want to seriously gain strength in my bench so Im wondering is 6 sets sufficient ? I plan on doing 3X3 then 3X8-10 how does that sound ?
I had success with 3x5.
Went from 175-250 in 8 weeks.
You need 1 set, anything less is insufficient.

I’ve had good success with the 5x5 however I am switching to 10x3 today. I’m at 270 now and hope to get my bench above 300 (315 would be great) by June.
Did Mentzer say that? I was just trying to make a joke haha.
No one can come in here and say 2 sets is best, 3-5-10 sets. You need to at least do 1, after that figure out what you need.

im wondering about this too. last time i benched 90kgs 3 times… and 3 months ago i benched 80kgs 5 times. i squat 115 5 times now and 1 month ago i squatted 80 kgs
figures something is weird about my bench progress…
There are bench specific workouts on this site. It is called a search function.
