0 way to know when you don’t post a pic or aren’t clear on what you actual goals are.
Obviously the longer runway you give yourself to cut slowly the easier and more sustainable it will be.
Mine is not. My abs are hidden behind the Meisterburger-Burgermeister syndrome. I am working on slimming, but seeing is believing. Or, in a very honest take, not believing.
Though it might be a little late in the game against fat, but my best suggestion about the duration that a cut should be 2 months. If it takes longer, you obtained too much fat. Strive to stay within a 2 month time to get cut.
A nice rate of weight change in a cut is about 2lbs a week. Abs are not the best guide, IMO. (Example: think of Boyer Coe.) It is major muscle group separation. Then individual muscles within the major groups.
Most have suggested pics. And they would be helpful. Many like relaxed poses only, but I would prefer some flexed poses too.
Currently you are standing at the threshold of a lifestyle change. IMO, just clean up you diet and slowly drop weight, and hopefully gain more muscle. If you can fully commit, there will be a new you in a year, capable of sustaining your conditioning. And that is the most important aspiration, which only comes with a lifestyle change.
